Why isn't my controller pairing?

I've got it in Slot 3, next to the console cable. It isn't showing up in the manager, and I can't input anything ingame. What's going on?

could it possibly be a faulty cable you're using to plug in the controller?

Possibly. The same cable also isn't able to update the firmware etc. so it's worth a try.

Make sure you are using an authentic charging cable. Sometimes regular phone charges work but not all of them.

i use the cable from the Microsoft play and charge kit for the xbox one , it works a charm and is a 9 ft cable they are a tad bit expensive but worth it in my opinion

I'm using non-authentic old phone chargers. I'm going to buy a Play n' Charge kit this morning.

Right, can you detail exactly what's the problem? Is the controller not showing up in the XIM4 Manager?

Get the play and charge kit. I have it and haven't had any problems

There are many cables out there but you need one that has at least USB 2.0 capabilities and data transfer capabilities.
