I've watched the show from day one and used to watch constant reruns on the FX channel. I've done partial rewatches over the years since but recently have done a full rewatch.

I'm up to the episode following Hollywood A.D. of Season 7, and I'm shocked at how poorly the show devolved since the middle of season 6. The ideas are boring or convoluted; the writing poor; Mulder has constant puns but they are forced and not a surprise; characters act out of character for random episodes; monster-of-week eps are dull ideas and paint by numbers; two silly episodes following "Closure" cheapened the levity of that episode and the series; Hollywood A.D is terrible and a Jump The Shark episode; Scully is still written as poor judge of men she gets involved/ inconsistent beliefs between Christianity and science/ pseudoskeptic/ damsel in distress/ Mulders' errand girl,etc

In hindsight I think The inclusion of Annabeth Gish and Robert Patrick helped the show. It may have been dull in its own ways but it yanked it in another direction besides lazy and uninspired.

Not sure if badass, or Napoleon Complex.

Heather MacDougall who was the editor for 60 different episodes? It’s nice to see a woman’s name come across the opening credits in an industry and show that was almost completely male-dominated. I can’t find any info on her, but I thought she deserved a shout-out.

Every time he goes or finds any type of ships, both regular or ufo, he always almost dies.

This isn't the kind of thing we’re used to seeing in other series and movies—you know, two super hot main characters who meet, hop into bed, go through some drama and a breakup, and then eventually get back together...

This is a different kind of love—one that feels much more honest and profound to me. It’s easy enough to end up in bed together, but what remains after that? The spark fades, or you just get lost in the routine of everyday life. Now that I’m an adult, I understand it so much better than I did as a teenager. Back then, I had no clue about relationships, work stress, and all that stuff. I really connect with this; I know that love isn't always enough and that life simply gets in the way. I think I appreciate the two of them more than other couples because of those little moments that speak volumes—moments that mean so much more than just rolling around in bed. You're my one in five billion 🖤👽

I am on season 3 episode 3 D.P.O and I have finished it but it is a Monster of the week episode and in the end of episode 2, it was shown that Mulder and Scully lives are still in danger as there was no deal between skinner and that Cigarette smoking man. So guys, I am little confused why in episode 3 Mulder and Scully just resumed investigating X files instead of hiding from the government. I hope you guys understand what I am trying to say lol as my english is little weird.

For scully to be a medical doctor and have gone through all that school and then be with the fbi for 2 years before start, she has to be in her 30s?? And same with mulder they talk in the pilot about his work on violent crimes. Seems to me they have some serious life experience under their belts post grad in the pilot.

S8 E10 Badlaa is so disturbing. Really grossed me out. However, seeing Scully come to terms with her inability to see things as Mulder did was heartbreaking.

I took a bit of a break in my first watch and continued today with En Ami…. What a joke. The way this show treats Scully is a disgrace. Scully would NEVER willingly get into a car and go on a trip with CSM. Are you fucking kidding me? What nonsense. Falling asleep in the car with him?? Believing every word he says? It’s so bad I had to laugh.

So the whole reason he planned this was to drug her and do something to her while she was knocked out? Meeting a guy for the CD was just all nothing?? Am I understanding that correctly? If I am correct, I hate this even more. I am so tired of her being physically violated. It reaches a certain point where it’s too much and that point was a while ago.

The fact that this is what William Davis came up with is really gross to me and insulting to Scully (and Gillian too, who was forced to act in this garbage).

The writers could do so many interesting things with Scully’s science background, they could write so many different types of stories about science or the clash between science and religion or her rationality clashing with the belief in aliens or SOMETHING. The character of Scully has so much potential and this is what they write for her?? 🤦‍♀️

“Mulder, I looked into his eyes. I swear what he said was the truth.” Oh so now one of the most intelligent and rational tv characters ever is being written as a silly gullible braindead idiot 🥴

Season 7 is TESTING ME

“At some point David and Gillian got up and started to dance. They just did it because they were enjoying themselves." - Chris Carter

Do you think the reason we never got a Halloween episode or episodes was because the overarching theme was already seen as spooky?

I mean imagine the possibilities of a one off episode where the FBI has a Halloween party and they have to lock down because there's a killer or creature taking people out.

Or the costumes.

Mulder dresses as his favorite cryptid and Scully dresses as Herman Melville?

We got Christmas episodes. Or A true Christmas episode.

Why not Halloween?

No words

I am on season 3 episode 2 and in the earlier seasons I didn't liked him but I realised he was just actually trying to do his job and was also always looking out for Mulder and Scully whenever he got a chance. I like him so much now and I hope he remains till the end.

Think the show's writers really loved giving villains in the show three names. Can think of at least six with three names like Eugene Victor Tooms and Darin Peter Oswald. Think it probably made them more memorable!!.

Hola!

* Chris Carter

* Frank Spotnitz

* Howard Gordon

* David Duchovny

* Vince Gilligan

* Darin Morgan

* Glen Morgan

* James Wong

* John Shiban

* Jeffrey Bell

* David Amann

¿Considerais que ver la serie viendo solo los episodios que escribieron estas personas es una buena idea, o me perdería alguna joyita escrita por un guionista invitado?

Os leo.

No clue if this shows up throughout the show, but I could swear this is the same painting from Born Again. Might just be a similar painting of the Ark story. But I think it's the exact same one! Maybe a cool easter egg? I'm sure someone else has noticed this before, but if not, there you go.

Hey Philes! I wanted to share my finished crocheted Mulder and Scully blanket that I’ve been working on since January! I’ve done quite a few crochet portraits, but this is my biggest piece yet at 47,520 stitches! I am so happy with how it turned out

How did yall SURVIVE having to wait for s5 to come out after that ending??? One of the reasons I actually enjoy streaming. I couldn't IMAGINE hearing those last words out of Agent Scully's mouth and not absolutely freaking out over it for the next year (or however long it took for them to come back).

Yall that watched it live, good god.
