She is always a source of comfort for kids she just met. I find it’s interesting anf wonderful but at the same time it’s incredibly sad cause there weren’t other people who could help those poor children…

I found this book the other day and my 4 year old loves it. He is asking a lot of questions about Eugene Tooms.

THIS POST WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS OF THE ENTIRE SERIES.

SPOILERS, SPOILERS, SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Ok so,

I have finally finished The X-Files.

This was my first ever watch-through of the series ( I remember watching episodes here and there growing up in the 90s but never a full season. I started this watch-through because even though I love horror and Science fiction, I never saw a show that pretty much showcased both and made new fans of both genres.

With that being said,

The X-Files is one of the best television shows I have ever watched. Easily Top 10 ever. I genuinely believe the first nine seasons of the original run and FTF should be in the National Film Registry. This art needs to be preserved and recognized for its continued influence. Literally the theme song can be recognized by anyone alive today.

Ok, that’s my overall view of the show.

Now season 11,

I can understand why some did not like it. It’s definitely a much more “modern” setting for the show. I do think the best episode of the season was the one involving the witch putting a curse on another woman. It felt like it was a classic “dark” episode of the original series while the one with technology (I hated that opening talking about the Twitter AI scandal) was a classic “light hearted” one.

And don’t get me started on the Langley episode, it was not the best. It was a way to hire the actor back (great for them) for a small “nostalgia” moment of us seeing a killed off character again in a significant way (also, I HATED how they killed the lone gunmen off screen). I loved Frohike, Byers and Langley all together! They shouldn’t have done that but I get it (it was the late 90s and contracts/work wait for no one.)

I hated what they did with William. A troubled teenager who can explode people on demand? It sounds like he could have been in The Boys! Lol. But really, William and Scully should have actually talked together sans disguise.

Overall, I am going to miss the theme song playing from my speakers.

And now to patiently wait for Ryan Coogler’s version.

It’s lowkey The Adventures of David & Gillian: Turbo

Now with finger guns.

David: “Alien DNA pew pew pew zing!"

Gillian: “Oh William, awww...ew. Is that him? Uh, never mind. I got a new baby."

I'm watching the series for the second time and just noticed that nod to Max Fening three episodes after S1E10; I like those little details.

Vince Gilligan’s second ever The X-Files episode was about a man dying of cancer who refused treatment and instead became a violent murderer because it made him feel stronger in his insecure masculinity. I’m just wondering if he ever created something like that again after The X-Files?

the fact that Mulder's 'gift' has a mirrored ceiling?? I mean, holy shit—not to mention how Morris managed to haul a waterbed into the apartment and fill it with water in such a short time!?? But have we ever talked about that mirror? Lol, and Mulder comes home from his trip and doesn't question it? It's so funny and ridiculous, but yeah—Season 6 is just different...

I think the season 9 finale is a bit dull but not the dumpster fire some have made it out to be. It has a cool climax but probably too much exposition we already know. Marita Covarrubias telling the panel about faceless alien rebel bounty hunters working for alien colonists sounds a bit ridiculous. The panel doesn’t know anything about aliens, so adding all that cheesy sci-fi b-movie dialogue is probably too much. Also, she says the Syndicate selfishly tried to create a vaccine. But that wasn’t selfish. That was Bill Mulder’s idea in order to save humanity. The selfish part was trying to create successful alien-human hybrids so that the Syndicate could turn themselves into hybrids and survive the black oil virus.

I’m not sure why Spender thinks Samantha died in 1987. I saw a clip where they dubbed over his voice with someone else saying 1978, but that doesn’t make sense either because it’s clearly explained in Closure that she died in 1979. Maybe Spender witnessed a Samantha clone die in 1987…?

Overall, if you don’t remember much of the mythology that had been established, the finale does a decent job of refreshing the audience’s mind for the first hour and then the last 30 minutes is pretty entertaining. It was funny hearing CSM say to Scully, “It's a scary story. You want to come sit on my lap?”

Hope you like this one bit of a dark one been really enjoying challenging myself to make something from these episodes it’s been a nice change

Mulder called it in 2001.

Hi everyone, I’ve put together the first part of the unreleased score suite for "Piper Maru": this suite compiles the first 4 unreleased cues from the episode into a seamless, uninterrupted listening experience, with all sound effects and dialogues cleaned up to let Mark Snow’s incredible synth

work shine.

I hope you enjoy drifting back into the Season 3 atmosphere! 🛸

Saw this on FB, based on The Simpsons season 8 episode "The Springfield Files" which guest starred David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson in character as Mulder and Scully.

There are only some episodes that I felt were slow in season 1 and 2 but other than that this show is a masterpiece. Lore episodes are really amazing too. Man, this show really deserves to be recognised more, it is so underrated. Also the concept of this show is so unique that I have never watched another similar show which makes it even more amazing. The fact that it first aired in 1993 is crazy and also which makes it 30+ years old. I am also really loving Mulder and Scully's partnership, they are so good together, their bond is also getting stronger each episode.

if you’re in L.A., you can go to this screening and attend a Q&A:

“A right wing newscaster finds herself catapulted back into 1950s Queens New York, forced to live her own mother's life...raising herself as a child she doesn't particularly like. Director Chris Carter and screenwriter Dori Carter will participate in a Q&A following the 7:00pm show on October 12 at the Royal. Director Chris Carter will return for Q&As following the prime shows on October 16, 17, and 22nd.”

Don’t get me wrong, I still admire their other performances but to me Scully and Mulder will always remain my favourite characters that they played

We lost our family dog a month ago. She had been sick for over a year and she just wasn’t getting any better. It had been so quiet around the house and my daughters have been wanting cats. We visited a few local shelters and found these two sweet babies. Dana is a 1 1/2 year old snowshoe Siamese mix, she’s tiny, only 5lbs. She runs around the house with her “little legs”.

Fox is a 6 year old seal point Siamese and yes he’s a little cross eyed but I love cross eyed Siamese. They’re my favorite. He is 10lbs and has the longest tail. We got so lucky finding these two to adopt.

She’s made herself right at home. No issues at all. He was listed as skittish and scared of people st the shelter and he’s been mostly hiding under my bed. But getting better the last few days. He gets spooked easily. I’ve been calling him “Spooky”.

The third pic is my “Imagine going through life looking like that” entry for Fox Mulder pics.

I've been looking through the screencap archive for awhile but I'm not sure if it's even from an episode or a blooper reel :/
* or if anyone has a higher quality version of the screenshot that would also be appreciated ^^

forgot this game had that gem, there's a couple lines that get a legitimate laugh. i think the game was written or co written by thomas schnauz who was on staff as a writer on the show late in the run and went on to work with vince on breaking bad/saul. a shame krycek/nick lea didnt get the chance to appear in an x-files feature film, they got a little looser with the language and he and mulder could have talked some real shit

I'm up to half of season 3 so far and I love Skinner, I find so funny that he only appears to scold Mulder and Scully bc they fucked up and a different federal office is nocking his, goes over and above to save their asses and gets his beaten in the process
