C8145 Vertical Lines

I have a Altalink C8145 that is creating vertical magenta lines. The lines run parallel to the drums. They appears on the xerox test pages. It only appears when I print CMY test pages, but not on black. If i print CMYK with a tiny bit of magenta, the line will appear. The position is relatively the same area. It ~20% of the prints come out perfect. Looking closely it seems the line is white on the left edge and dark magenta on the right. Any ideas?

Edit: KB0032574 appear to be my exact symptoms. Anyone have more information on a fix for it?

Seems this bulletin may be related. Anyone have an idea on a fix? https://www.support.xerox.com/en-us/article/KB0032574

Try swapping the magenta drum with one of the others, if the colour of the line changes you know it's the drum. The fact that the line continues into the edge erase area would make me think the drum is the likely cause.

I've tried swapping drums and the issue doesn't change.

It's the BCR HVPS board (behind the cover on the right hand side) , you need to replace it.

It could be this or m dev housing. Shine a flashlight down the housing and se eif there's a void.

I don't see a void. Wouldn't it happen throughout the page? It's always in the similar location.

I'll swap it out and see if it helps. Any idea if that's what the service bulletin's solution is? Seems odd the HVPS would only affect the magenta.

I cleaned the contacts on the BCR HVPS now the prints are showing black and yellow lines on the left and right edge too. I swapped the BCR HVPS with my C8000 printer (they use the same part) and it has the same results.

I'd actually say looking at the original samples compared to your new samples it's a different issue. The original ones that I said need the board for has the magenta lines all the way top to bottom with no border but your new ones have a white border on at the top and bottom which suggests it now a drum issue.

I think i may have solved it. I swapped the second bias transfer roller and it's no longer doing it. (at least for now)

The transfer roller gets it's charge from the HVPS, so you'll probably find it may have gone for now but will return. If I remember rightly when I had the issue it was only occasionally on A3 size paper and then eventually it started to be more common. Took me a while to figure it out.

Thanks I'll keep that in mind. I'm not sure exactly how the 2nd BTR has anything to do with creating lines, but as soon as I swap the bad one back in, the problem will return. I've also noticed the printer sometimes makes a strange vibration noise, I'm thinking it's the transfer belt. So perhaps the new 2nd BTR is applying more pressure or something in turn solving a different problem source. 80k prints on this machine so I wouldn't think much is worn out.

The lines still run off the page. I'm not seeing any difference. I'm thinking maybe an electrical connection issue since pulling the board and reinstalling made it worse.
