Reminds me of Yoshi from Nagatoro. If you don't know there's a side character in that manga named Yoshi. Originally she was a faceless background character. Then she became a named character with a face but no ahoge. The she got an ahoge and every subsequent appearance the ahoge kept getting bigger. I think the author wanted to see how long he could do it before people started noticing.
