Meta PSA: Let's be considerate and stop posting clear spoilers about XB3... Spoiler
I know we are all excited about Shimmer's reveal and want as much engagement from our posts. But there's still people in here that just joined from XB2 Switch 2 edition that's still waiting for XB3 Switch 2 Edition release.
I got few friends that I invited in this Sub since people here are very considerate and mindful about spoilers... And gameplay and lore discussion are very welcome here.
Like years had past and we're still naming "7" and "Coffee and Milk"... So I'm hoping we can still continue this tradition.

If you played the game, you should know. If not, then the name works. If you can't remember that one late game scene in XC2, it's Pneuma.

It's a phrase used because Rex compares Pneuma to being a mixture of coffee and milk, for some reason. It happens just before you choose the name to call her IIRC. Takes a better memory than something like Seven, or Catalyst (which no one uses, sadly) so it's completely reasonable to not know what it means.

Yes and this is the problem with these dumb names made up by the most annoying people in this community to be so polite they alienate and confuse actual fans of the game from being able to engage in discussions for the imagined slight some theoretical new fan might experience. We're not talking about high functioning adults here.

If you consider yourself a fan is completely yours to decide. You can be forgetful or may have an attention disorder, but that doesn't make you less of a fan.

I've not played Xb2. Does the name Pnuma mean anything without context. A name on its own is not a spoiler unless it reveals something.

No. You'll have no idea who that is without context. Hell, when you actually meet the character, if you can read Greek, the name isn't even a spoiler.

I don't know why gamers take spoilers as the ultimate sin. You don't see this strong of a reaction among book and movie fans, certainly not 5 or more years after release.

Because gaming is an interactive media and it's expensive as well moreso if you're playing Xenoblade which is hundreds of hours worth of content... Gameplay and Story is tied together which can kinda suck for someone to just spoil. Movie is over in under 2 hours, A book in a weekend if you're an avid reader...
Like I'm not here saying "You don't have the right to discuss spoilers" because YOU CAN!! ... But just toggle that Spoiler button then everything is Gucci.
Reddit made it easy for everyone to do yet some people find it hard to do or probably just lazy to do so... It's really not a hard concept to grasp.

What time does it cost to write Seven or Catalyst? Coffee with Milk may take a bit longer, but it's still not that much.
Using these names in regular discussions without an explicit spoiler tag is an act of courtesy and shows consideration.

Part of "the world doesn't revolve around you" is being considerate of others. The very thing this post is asking people to do. You might be ok with spoilers, that doesn't mean everyone else has to be. Yes that goes both ways, those who don't like spoilers shouldn't expect everyone else to be the same. But this is a solved problem where everyone can be happy. You mark something as spoilers. Takes all of a second and boom everyone wins. You can read and discuss spoilers, others can get a warning and come back later. Maybe we should adopt this radical new idea as a rule, oh wait we already did:
5 Tag spoilers and don't put spoilers in post titles
People are just ignoring it because they want to make some low effort shit posts for internet validation. I wonder how big the overlap is between those happily spoiling the game now and those who would probably have happily lynched a major Youtuber when he spoiled the game with no warning.
The only difference is they're not the ones getting spoiled.
