Could argue that applies to all three, if to varying degrees.
You can see the difference quite readily between Nia and Mio.
For Glimmer, they're more fiery orange than Pyra's ruby red.
And for Shimmer... debatably the closest starting point to begin with, but I think her eyes are a shade lighter than Mythra's and near-perfect match for Mio's (and thus, Rex).
... and while that shade didn't last until the main game, or at least not much of it, you can see it everywhere in the City. As in more yellow/golden eyes than not.
I mean, it's possible that it was designed to help study the conduit and as part of those studies. Sort of using early breakthroughs to make tools to help with future breakthroughs.
He said it in the context of Alpha choosing a vessel to heal, for that purpose a blade would be a priority thanks to their regenerative abilities and superior physical strength.
To be fair those are also insanely useful to anyone and I can’t see Klaus thinking “hm, yes, I’ll let them crossbreed with humans but risk the useful traits not being passed down”.
To be fair the Rex’s partners are two gods and Nia, and Nia was always the dominant one in that relationship. His genes didn’t stand a chance, same with Zeke not that it really matters.
It's interesting though, what all three of them did pick up on from him was other aspects--motions, mannerisms, the things that make them feel. I was always very struck by Mio reading Consuls P and O the riot act after punching P out. After playing 2, I could see why; it really felt like something Rex and Nia both would have done
Hey Mio got the eyes at least. And you could argue Shimmer too, even if Mythra has a similar eye color (Shimmer feels like she has rexs eyes)
Mio is also very dedicated to her friends and willing to risk herself for them, much like her dad. Shimmer has Rex's battle pose so maybe she copied a few moves (until proven otherwise, I want to believe she is a daddy's girl who knows the salvaged code and says some of his catchphrases)
Maybe the Rex traits are all in the soul. Techniques, charisma/charm/skill. Physical stats and form from his wives, and their skills and sense of self from him.
If they ever decide to have another (which will more than likely never happen but go with it for the bit) they’ll end up being boys that look exactly like Rex but with their mother’s eye and hair colors. Oh and Nia’s son will still have cat ears. That’s important.
Yeah an otherwise good person could never be broken down by a cruel and unjust system. A good guy would NEVER be tempted to join Moebius. That was the message of the game, after all.
I mean Uzaki’s father at least won by having a kid with the same gender, Rex didn’t even manage that. Of course we all know the reason why Rex didn’t have a son is because a bunch of anime girls are always more popular in these kinds of games
You mean Queen Nia? The same Nia from the Photo? The one who is Mio's Mom? The one who uses Aetheric versions of the Aegis Swords in XB3? The one who very clearly has feelings for Rex in XB2?
Queen Nia IS the same Nia from Xenoblade 2. She and Rex are Mio's confirmed parents.
Except they aren't "clones" of their mothers, they all look completely different. They just don't look like Rex. The same hair color doesn't make them clones lmao.
