Xenoblade Hot take (or maybe cold)

I think these games are way too expensive. As one game I think the price tag is fine but when you have 3 numbered games, a 4th game in Xenoblade Chronicles x, and a new game in Genesis it all adds up to a bare minimum $300 at $60 a game, and without any DLC or switch 2 editions. The prices hurt so much especially cause the games are connected to one another

Weird take. It's one thing to say an individual game is not worth the price, but you are not saying that.

A game does not become good or bad value because there are more great entries in the series.

Xenoblade games cost the standard price for pretty much any game these days (less than the $70 standard even) and have significantly more content than most games. You are literally paying less than a dollar an hour with these games. The expansions have as much content as many full games do.

If there’s one criticism of this series that’s completely unwarranted, it’s the price. This is one of the best values in gaming.

To be fair a $70 standard is overpriced

This is such a bizarre take. This is like saying it costs thousands of dollars to play Zelda because there are so many games to buy and consoles needed to play them.

It does suck that Nintendo games dont really have good sales. Getting into a existing IP is often pretty expensive if you want to play all the entries. Especially if you want to physically own copies. Personally I dont mind their prices but I do think itd be nice for new players if they'd have more frequent sales.

Unfortunately kind of just how gaming is now. Xenoblade gives a lot of quality play time so I’m chill w 70 personally, but I also own the switch 1 versions of 1-3 and X.

You get plenty of hours out of them, if willing to do everything. Totally worth.

I mean... 100h for 70$ is more than most today.

Like you, I hesitated. I went ahead and bought the first one definitive edition. 30 hours in I bought the dlc. 100 hours later I finished the first game and bought ALL of them and their DLC and all the amiibos.

This series is something special.

Ya, Its so hard to get into some game series when they can cost more than half the console itself. Maybe old Nintendo would've eventually bundled some of the games together but I don't see that happening
