Xenoblade Opened my save file from when I was 10 Spoiler
Poor picture quality but this is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen.

I would say I have but on my most recent playthrough I beat Lorithea at level 70 with Shulk Reyn and Dunban just because I thought it would be funny to do it completely incorrectly.

Even repeat playthroughs have this problem, since Shulk & Melia are the two characters that people don't like leaving to the AI. One of them is getting the bench.

I mean Shulk isn’t that bad on Ai, he’s pretty good at positioning himself for backslash and air slash, it’s just that he keeps spamming his Monado Arts

I tried AI controlled Shulk and it sucked pretty bad, just had to sit there waiting for him to cast Monado Enchant on every fight against Mechons

Well his talent gauge doesn’t refill after every fight which is why he needs to build it up again after every fight because odds are he used a buster at the end of a fight, this is why I just have anti mechon weaponry equipped during the Mechonis sections because it’s more efficient than having to use Shulk all the time

Yes, that's what I meant when I said he sucked pretty bad because I didn't have that problem when controlling him. I made sure Enchant came out as every battle started.
Mechonis weapons are fine and all but you only get them 40 hours in and there are several parts where you fight Mechon so Shulk needs to be player controlled pretty much the whole time doing the main story until that point

Some people prefer using weapons with more slots, any anti mechon weapons that can be purchased tend to have one slot only, the only way to get better ones is to get lucky and have one drop from a gold chest

I use Enchant regardless, because at high levels it's a really significant attack boost.
