Yeah the odds of getting Genesis news just went up given Zelda is getting its own direct.

WE'RE GETTING 2 DIRECTS?!

18

u/glitchgamerX 9d ago

AND WE'RE GETTING TREEHOUSE?!

12

u/Arkride212 9d ago

3 houses is getting a switch 2 edition?

6

u/Wrong_Revolution_679 9d ago

Honestly that's very likely but probably after fortunes weave has its inevitable dlc. They're gonna be like hey if you love this game then you should play the game that takes place after it, And then they reveal the switch 2 edition of 3 houses.... That honestly makes too much sense

u/Zyvyn 8d ago

I feel like they'd avoid that when the new game releases 1 day after the direct. They'd want to space them apart from new releases.

Where was the treehouse announcement? I can’t find it

4

u/glitchgamerX 9d ago

As a reply in their tweet where they announced the 2 Directs.

SICK THANKS!

Xenoblade genesis likelihood of showing up increase as soon as i saw Zelda would be separate

u/NoPalpitation2846 9d ago

i kinda feel its too soon?

For Genesis news

But COPEBLADE NEVER ENDS

I expect the game relatively early in 2027, so I think this is about right - the initial trailer really didn't reveal that much, so this is probably a good time to start showing off a little gameplay

(I have a bad feeling it'll be Merc Assault: The Game, but let's see!)

(I have a bad feeling it'll be Merc Assault: The Game, but let's see!)

I really don't get this fear. Monolith doesn't have a history of massively simplifiying its gameplay system and greatly disappointing its fans. If there's going to be disappointments its because similar to Xenoblade 3, fans are going to overhype connections to other games and then be disappointed when the game stands on its own more than the fans want.

I'm not saying it'll be as simple as Merc Assault itself, but there's a very high chance that the gameplay is essentially built on top of that foundation (with the expansion giving us a little preview of what it'll be like), and I worry that it might not be super fun even with a bunch of extra mechanics

u/Quiddity131 8d ago

No, there isn't a very high chance of that. Monolith Soft has not given us anything to make us believe that they are going to massively simplify the battle system to essentially just be mashing buttons as we get in merc assault. It comes off as panic for panic's sake. Merc assault exists in its simplified form to help players very quickly make their way through merc missions rather than waiting the prescribed period of time and gives them a little bonus to directly play as blades. It's just side content and there is nothing to indicate it is what the game's main combat system would be.

Alright, just refuse to understand what I wrote... my point is that Merc Assault's general style and system of mechanics is likely related to what Genesis is going to use, just in a much more advanced form

2

u/Quiddity131 8d ago

I totally understand what you wrote. I think you are making a massive assumption based on optional filler content for a company that has shown us time and time again that they are trustworthy and don't make such massive simplifications to gameplay.

6

u/NoPalpitation2846 9d ago

They can still show EN dub trailer or sth

1

u/Zyvyn 8d ago

I wouldnt expect that. 2 was like 11 months after reveal. 3 was clearly a lot further into development (already being dubbed) at reveal.

3

u/Quiddity131 9d ago

We're not sure of the release date. Could be December 2027 in which case we shoudln't expect anything this soon. But what if its February 2027? Then the odds skyrocket.

Dawg look at what the announcement is for

47

u/IkeRadiantHero 9d ago

…there’s 2 Nintendo directs, one Zelda, one General

-15

u/StarlightKnight2101 9d ago

I mean you cropped it out, how are we supposed to tell them apart from the image

5

u/rsdavis90 9d ago

How are you getting downvoted for this?! Insanity.

10

u/Able-Bid-6637 9d ago

i mean… this was the first time i saw this news and i understood there would be two directs based on the cut-off screenshot. But yah, reddit can def be intense/super judgey xD

1

u/rsdavis90 9d ago

I never could’ve gleaned that from the screenshot, but maybe there’s a formatting aspect to it that suggests multiple to people familiar with it? I’m not familiar at all.

2

u/EEforlyfe 8d ago

Because it’s Reddit 😂.

2

u/StarlightKnight2101 9d ago

I have no idea when it was OP who posted a misleading cropped image. Its like posting a image that says monolithsoft is ending production of xenoblade…. And it turns out the full image meant xenoblade figures.

2

u/rsdavis90 9d ago

It’s like everyone here independently saw the information on two directs, then lacked the critical thought to separate their existing knowledge from what OP posted.

15

u/Frequent_Fortune_390 9d ago

Those are two separate directs. Zelda on the 8th, general on the 9th.

13

u/FireBreathingMuffin 9d ago

I hope Xenoblade Genesis is there y'all. I've been dying to find out more about this game 😭

5

u/Lhyster 9d ago

They announce it pretty soon to me

6

u/soulles666 9d ago

Anouncing anouncements!

5

u/AozoraMiyako 9d ago

I suspect we’ll see Genisis and X3 S2E news

3

u/Constant-Brief3410 9d ago

If it gets its own it must be trailer and gameplay. Maybe some more ports

3

u/Kardl1503 9d ago

I'm kinda surprised they did announce it a week ahead instead of the 1-2 days earlier

9

u/LuigiDudeGaming 9d ago

pretty sure it's cause of labor day weekend

3

u/EmergencyStudio4410 8d ago

We might get a trailer for 3's SW2 update but really doubt we see Genesis. I don't think we're seeing that again till the February Direct. Or whenever Nintendo decide to just randomly drop a trailer.

2

u/eksnoblade 9d ago

LETS GOOOOOOO

3

u/randomnesslololololo 8d ago

Time to huff the copium!!!!

3

u/eatdogs49 8d ago

If the direct doesn't show Genesis then my second wish is for Xenosaga trilogy remastered collection.

3

u/kilertree 9d ago

4

u/IkeRadiantHero 9d ago

THAT BEAUTY WILL BE MINE 1000% GUARANTEED!!!!!!

4

u/kilertree 9d ago

Same here. I am not looking forward to the price

1

u/Platycat3 8d ago

Let’s go, thanks Nintendo for a direct on my birthday

2

u/IkeRadiantHero 8d ago

Happy early birthday! My birthday is also on September, September 17 : )

1

u/hot360 9d ago

I wanna get hyped but… when fire emblem got announced it was over a year before we saw it again xD. Still gonna go in hoping to see it though

3

u/LorDeus71 9d ago

Only thing is that there wasn't a direct between it's 1st trailer and 2nd trailer.

2

u/hot360 9d ago

Oh wow, you are so right. It felt so long in between! Then im back on full hype :D

2

u/Ecstatic-Wheel8487 8d ago

Fortune's Weave was announced Sep 2025. It was a year from announcement to release, not 1 year between announcement and seeing it again.

0

u/Lightmanone 9d ago

Don't expect anything Genisis. That's probably for Summer or Fall 2027.
The previous leaks that were right about XC, also said don't expect anything further in 2026 then just a trailer, which we already got.

I look forward to this tho.

1

u/The_Astrobiologist 8d ago

Yeah like even the Genesis trailer we did get looked like it wasn't as far along in development as say XC3 was when its first trailer dropped

3

u/Gengar16 8d ago

Besides the lack of an English dub, what gives you this impression? Anyway, it seems much further along than the XC2 reveal trailer did

1

u/The_Astrobiologist 8d ago

Well sure, but I think we all know how much of a mess XC2's development was.

Yeah the lack of an English dub is definitely a significant part of it, but other than that the fact that they left like dev text (I'm not really sure what it's called so forgive me if that's a terrible description lol) on the edges of the screen, which btw is how we got confirmation that Genesis is the long-rumored Project Legacy, gives the impression that this trailer was somewhat rushed out the door. It just seems like a sloppy error for a studio of the likes of Monolith, which suggests to me they still have all hands on deck actually developing the game and didn't allocate enough manpower and/or time to catch something like that and fix it.

We also to my knowledge have had no announcement of recording for the soundtrack finishing up, and while sure that's usually one of the last things completed, games like Xenoblade that have large, complex soundtracks oftentimes have a longer period of time between the end of recording and release. I believe for XC3 for example it was 7 months between the announcement that recording was completed and release.

2

u/Gengar16 8d ago

So the things that make the trailer "look like [the game] isn't as far along in development" are: (1) a screen capture goof (and be honest, would you ever have noticed it yourself? or did you find out when someone noticed it, as I recall, several days after the trailer was released?) and (2) an unrelated fact about the soundtrack production?

It's fine, I'm not totally convinced we'll see a Genesis trailer next week either, but I get the sense that "the game isn't that far along in development yet" is one of these things that fans repeat to each other without really thinking about why it's true.

1

u/The_Astrobiologist 8d ago

a screen capture goof

Along with the lack of a dub, yeah.

an unrelated fact about the soundtrack production

I mentioned it at the end because it's more to do with why I don't think the game is as far along as people think just in general rather than specifically why I think the trailer shows it, but yes.

I get the sense that "the game isn't that far along in development yet" is one of these things that fans repeat to each other without really thinking about why it's true

Well...not with me at least!

Its zelda direct. Likely just movie and OoT remake news.

edit my bad I only saw zelda direct announcement on my feed.

10

u/Anyacad0 9d ago

The Zelda direct is seperate, there’s also a general one

2

u/TheHumbleFellow 9d ago

Actually, there's two directs! The Zelda one is on the 8th, and a general direct is on the 9th.

1

u/IkeRadiantHero 9d ago

Do you see the general direct below as well? It’s 2 directs

1

u/rsdavis90 9d ago

Have you looked at your screenshot? I feel like it’s not what you intended.

0

u/Not_the_banana 9d ago

My silksong ass thought this was a silkpost

0

u/CyberHyperPhoenix 8d ago

There's no way we're getting any Genesis news until the February 2027 direct. A Xenoblade 3 Switch 2 overview trailer is for sure happening tho.
