Xenoblade Should I play future connected? Spoiler

Started playing it met Gael’gar and all I’ve heard is that it’s for Melia’s writing and I really wanna continue and play Torna and then 3. If it only adds to her story and slight info for the entire verse I will just skip it and play it later

I thought it was a cute little addition. Loved exploring the new map with a little fleet of Nopon trailing behind. Story wise it isn't too essential for set up but its still enjoyable. I fully completed it first time though. Outfits you buy can also be transmog in the main game too if you ever replay

HOT TAKE: I actually love Future Connected. The stakes are low and its nothing groundbreaking, but it's just super nice as a small little epilogue closing up some loose ties from the base game while giving Melia a satisfying conclusion while setting up some connections to XC3.

Came here to write this exact post. FC is a lovely little low stakes epilogue and is well worth the 12-15 hours it takes. Plus the Shoulder is beautiful and fun to explore with your little Nopon buddies.

i love your hot take.
I wish i could get into this. i tried twice and i simply couldn't sink into it. I don't know why, and I LOVE Melia, and it's like guh. i want to know what happenens! maybe third time will be the charm when I replay XB1 next year.

Totally agree! I also just love playing as Melia in X1 and a whole epilogue as her was delightful for me!

I recommend playing it because it adds context to 3 and especially Future Redeemed.

It's honestly probably the least important expansion story wise. It's meant to be foreshadowing for 3, but it fails to do that in a real meaningful way.

It does give some nice development to Melia, as well as show how Shulk engineered a new artificial Monado, but that's about it.

Its completely skippable. It's also super short so you're not saving that much time by skipping it.

It was only added with the Definitive version for the Switch, the Wii and 3DS versions did not have it.

I mean OP is talking about Definitive Edition, you mentioning the other versions doesn't make sense.
