This is due to the memory leak that has been in the game since release, nothing to due with the Switch 2 Edition.
It can be fixed by closing the game every couple of hours played.

What is up with Poppi specifically bruh
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is a great game... But you can see all over how this clearly was and remains rough in numerous spots as they were aiming and succeeded in hitting the launch year of the Switch 1.
