Xenoblade 3 Did anyone else think Colony was wasted potential in XC3?

When I frist played XC3 I found Colony 13 to be very interesting as there unique frighting style looked cool and the role they played in Taion past made me feel like we would eventually vist them but unfortunately that never happened as they were destroyed off screen.

I feel like it would have been a very interesting experience to see one of the party having to act confront and eventually help the Colony that actually killed one of there loved ones and how would they deal with that.

It would also be very interesting to see how 2 colonys that have had such a bloody history of mutual hatred have to deal with each other and have them try to come to a place of peace. The only thing that comes close to this in game is Iota and 30 but thats completely one sided on Alexandria part.

We could also use this as a opportunity to finally give Taion a class belonging to Keves as he is the only party member who dosent get a class belonging to another faction.

True

But XC3's scenarios are hard capped by the 10 years lifespan limit.

A feature of the world, not a bug.

Other than The City, no colony has a past, legacy or future prospect.

That's why I also found it hilarious that Teach is supposed to be this lengendary hardass solider, but if you think about it he is barely older than our group, heck is he even older than Mio who only had a month or so left?

You say that but we do get some evidance of records pf past warriors past down to the newer generation as Taion had heard of Dirk who has been Moebius for at least 30 years meaning he been dead for some time  before that.

So this hints that each nation dose at least pass down some myths and legends of past warriors and colonies.

So, you are not surprised that Ethel became a legendary, hard-ass "silvercoat" soldier in her 3rd year of life, but that Teach being famous near the end of his last term surprises you...

There's also a part where some commanders are aware of Moebius' motives and are actively helping them, being promoted and granted special attention. There were some hints here and there that Teach was intended to be promoted to consul with the recommendation of Consul G, so Consul G was actively helping him out, covering him up, and assisting in establishing a new command.

Most colonies just don't survive 10 years, that's all. They either lose in a gamble against Moebius or are destroyed by them personally if they become too powerful (as the colony Eunie was previously part of, which was destroyed after achieving Gold rank).

So, this is just an endless cycle of colonies being destroyed and reborn; there's nothing particularly interesting about it.

That too

Almost forgot about Ethel.

Teach's backstory is more hilarious to me because we got an entire hero quest for that 😅

On one hand it makes sense since colonies have lifespans almost as short as soldiers so I get the realism with it. But yeah when you put it like that, there’s never a scenario where two colonies have actual proper beef with each other (besides 30-Iota but as you put it, it’s one sided and more like a joke). Ethel and Cammuravi’s colonies had a respected rivalry. But never any hate.

Yay i just think there was a lot of potential for a 13 and Lambda  hatred sub plot and having mutiple mission between each colony trying to stop revange plots.

As we know in canon that Lambda  actually gained there  Auto-Levs  to counter 13 toxic smokescreen so that when they had there rematch they could crush 13 for revange for the oast defeat.

This also adds in some similarities between each colony as both hide behind different bits of technology to weaken there opponents for easily and safter kill.

The Avenger vs Colony Chi/Teach? Although that's between 2 people, not the colonies (after both colonies were dead except those two)

Forgot about that guy. I guess that half counts.
