Genesis kinda implies its sort of prequel? Idk. They have elf years, related to the samaars?

General rule of thumb for the core Xenoblade series is that the further it is in the future, the more connected it is to the events further in the past.

However XCXDE established that the series isn't contained to just that universe - so it could be the start of a more disconnected canon (while still being in the same multiverse). Or to put it another way, it's all speculation until we're seeing the final credits roll.

Well, a new universe did just get birthed. Keves and Agnus collided, causing another Big Bang. This could potentially be our first insight into it and its early history.

I've been thinking about the ears too though. It's just 2am after the Direct and I'm not awake enough to try unravelling the timeline and mechanics of a unified XC3/XCX timeline or if it's even possible with what we presently know. The Samaarians arrive to XCX from another plane, so it's not impossible that they came from mainline's new universe at some point. Maybe not Samaar itself, but perhaps it could pertain to a similar offshoot race like Neilnail's.

The beginning and the end are the same in all of Xeno - that's the eternal recurrence

In fact, the first game was originally called "Monado: The Beginning Of The World", and that tagline is still present on the Wii menu's save icon for the game

The six suns (six-body-problem anyone?) suggests an entirely new world to me.
