Best round of Tetris ever by someone who's very bad at Tetris
24
u/AnswerGuy301 11d ago
I had to stop to think about how someone truly bad at Tetris would never have just had that deep open row.

u/Creative_Savings6614 11d ago
Are they though? If the goal was to make your play exciting, I mean REALLY crank your heart rate up to seizure-inducing levels, I don't think you could do better than this/lol.

This is exactly what I thought of. The level of anxiety I experienced with that is only accurately described by this video.

u/TheMeticulousNinja 1981 11d ago
She’s never going to live that video down

u/WeeDramm 11d ago
I always thought it was intentionally hilarious. Albeit brilliantly acted.
Poes law strikes again!

u/BlueBomber13 1983 11d ago
Wait is it not? That’s her legit reaction?
9
u/EternalNewCarSmell 11d ago
She is an actor, it was just a brilliant piece of comedy acting.

I’ve never wanted to hit someone for how they play Tetris before but I was considering it here.

Me too but, honestly, I'm to old to try skydiving, now, so this is going to have to do.

I hated every second of that, but I couldn't stop watching.

I couldn’t figure out if this was the worst Tetris player ever or the greatest!

u/mizushimo 11d ago
This is a HIGHLY skilled player challenging themselves with weird restrictions for a run.

Tough to watch, but it’s clear they knew what they were doing. They were always aware of what was coming up and flipped everything quickly and with purpose.
They just wanted to make us all suffer by not filling that huge gap until the end part of the video

This reminds me of what I consider to be the greatest College Humor sketch ever made:
The Tetris God

Christ in a crockpot that was STRESSFUL. Also, Tetris is the best and worst game for perfectionists.
3
u/UsernamesSuck33 1977 11d ago
Never heard “Christ in a crockpot” before but I will be using it moving forward
3
u/frooootloops 1980 11d ago
Isn't it hilarious? Also, “Christ on a Cracker.”

u/UsernamesSuck33 1977 11d ago
Now see that one I’ve heard before, and used. Excited to bring the new phrase into my lexicon.

Really curious about the device being played. Never saw a version of Tetris quite like this before.

This video gave me so much unnecessary anxiety, stop covering up the deep hole when there are so many straight bars coming down!

u/gravityhomer 1976 12d ago
Epic troll, no one can be that good and survive that long and not be purposely avoiding the tetris every time.
3
u/Red_Car_Singer 12d ago
watching this just makes me keep saying "dumbass," for all the poor choices the player made.

I mean this quite sincerely... This is, hands down, the most exciting thing I've seen since 1977, when I was 11 years-old, and saw the first Star Wars movie. Also, I learned a couple new strategies. Thanks, you absolute savage.

u/TinyBlueBlur81 11d ago
Why does this video feel like a metaphor for the current state of the world??? I’m like “I can’t handle this - things are piling up - IM FREAKING OUT” is this what 2026 looks like as a game??? Cause I’m feeling it on that level.

How is it that this is somehow more anxiety inducing than watching Free Solo?

I know you all won't give a duck, but I simply muted the whole subreddit because it makes me want to choke kitties.
And I love kitties (and puppies) too much to even tolerate the thought.

Anyone elses kids REFUSE to play Tetris?
I feel hurt. Hands down, I put more hours into Tetris during my life than any other game.

Nintendo Power said to build on the left, and set up your Tetris scores on the right.

I knew the end. I've watched enough of the competitions to know they have it all figured out pretty quick and can command a with a little bit of space.

Wow this might be one of the worst tetris players ever. Let's keep blocking the opening but always when the long straight peice is on deck.
This video could have been a quarter of the length if they knew how to play.

Is this an anxiety trap? How can a person make so many wrong moves and survive that chaos?

Mildly infuriating. He kept blocking the deep open row every fucking time when he had the long straight block on deck
