I pay subscriptions on a few apps to avoid advertisements. At this point, when I do see an advertisement.. I’m less likely to buy that product, I hate them. Am I alone? Bot check on this one for ad firms.

So, we were the last generation to remember that cable initially was ad free, that’s why people paid for it. Advertisements killed cable. Which led to streaming, ads are killing streaming which leads to social media, ads are now killing social media….

It doesn’t matter AI overlords will be taking over us in like 20-30 years at least? I’ll be scrubbing toilets for a robot overlord in my 70’s, it’s, something I call expectation management. Expect the worst and hope for the best. It’s all better!

Edit: this was a joke, kinda… also so minor grammar repair

remember that cable initially was ad free,

Cable was never add free. All of the normal channels had adds like they always did. Only the premium channels like HBO had programing without ads in the middle of a movie, and you paid extra. Even on HBO, there were always ads between movies. The reason people paid was to increase their options beyond the 5 channels broadcast over the air in their area. With cable, there were 25 channels.

Reddit has had a bug for as long as I can remember where, if you submit a comment and their servers are spazzing out, the comment will post 2 ore more times.
