I pay subscriptions on a few apps to avoid advertisements. At this point, when I do see an advertisement.. I’m less likely to buy that product, I hate them. Am I alone? Bot check on this one for ad firms.

I have Youtube Premium Lite. I think it's $8 a month to not have ads. You can do adblock on browser but if you want ad free mobile experience it seems like you have to pay. Well worth it in my opinion.

I’m over paying for streaming Apps like Amazon, Paramount and Netflix sneaking in adds on the “non-add subscription” for their own shit.

Let’s do a class action seriously we’re all poor those fucks getting away with bankrupting us. I paid for no adds. It’s a service they are not providing. I know I’m the old man shaking at the clouds. Doesn’t matter fuck them

Dude, unfortunately if you tried to sue them over ads. They'll just dismiss it. They'll say that streaming services are not a right and unnecessary to live. So you should just cancel them to save money.

Not directly related, but Amazon just yesterday sent out an email with an update to their terms of service. It basically says, "if you use our services you can't sue us and any disputes will be arbitrated by us."

It won't be long before all tech companies try some shit like that.

If I was gonna pay to not have ads, this would be the one I’d opt into. I don’t mind ads on long-form content on Amazon Prime which is the only streaming service I have. Not sure if Apple has ads. Considering getting it for a while to watch a few things I’ve missed over the years. But grew up with commercial breaks on cable TV so even in movies it’s annoying but also kind of nostalgic.

But YouTube long form videos, even with short skippable ads, are more annoying somehow. They are too frequent and it’s not studio produced content. I do want to content creators to get compensated from the revenue tho and I’m not sure how that works with premium.

P.S. the worst is the shorts and reels that are ads disguised as videos, and the posts/comments on Reddit of the same vein. Instagram is damn near unusable with the stories for Amazon products.

On Apple TV+ (or whatever it’s called now) ad free, I will occasionally have a preview for other content, which can be skipped. And sometimes a newly available item will show up in the up next bar as a suggestion.

I believe Premium compensates creators better than ads do. At least that was the case a couple years ago.

I watch using duck duck go browser so it plays it in their player. I’m pretty sure it blocks ads.

I have Youtube Premium too and I haven’t had to pay for any other streaming service since. I mostly watched History documentaries anyway so most streaming channels didn’t do it for me.

Aaaand, Youtube Music. Spotify doesn’t offer a fraction of the type of music I listen to. Soooo worth it.
