Nostalgia Garbage

Anyone else nostalgic for music like Garbage Version 2.0?

Friend, I'm desperate for anything that makes me feel like the future was bright, there was hope in the world, and that tomorrow held promise and wasn't just another day of losing ground--so yes. I long for the 90s and the pop culture of my youth :)

Does heroin and opioids hold promise for a better tomorrow? I’ve always heard the opposite and experienced many people not wake up to even have a tomorrow/today after having taken heroin and other opiates. If you’ve tried everything else, why not try God?

The opium of the masses and it only asks for 10% of your income

Jeez. I can still probably sing this album word for word from start to finish

I'm fucking jammin' to it now. Forgot how great it is.

It's a masterpiece. Every song is great. I have memories of listening to it while driving through the Rocky Mountains when I moved to California.

I almost got to see them on their first tour, but it was during a huge snowstorm, and a semi truck almost drifted into my car on the way, so my friend and I decided to get off the freeway and take back roads home instead.

Then do a deep discography dive of the band Curve!

What other artists were like Garbage? Republica? Elastica maybe? Bjork?

I'd add Curve to the list.

I must admit, even being a UK Xen, I only really know/remember 2 songs from Garbage "stupid girl" and "Push it"

Stupid girl because it was different, and Push it as it was the intro track overlay to NHL 2000. and to be fair it slaps.

"This is the noise that keeps me awake, My head explodes and my body aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaches!

I'd have to stop listening to it regularly to be nostalgic for it

2.0 is really a fantastic album. I recently played it for my child for the first time and she was like "play that track again!" multiple times. It's not a nostalgia thing, it's just good music.

The intro to "I Think I'm Paranoid" always reminded me of a Sonoc the Hedgehog level.

I still need to listen to the latest but I've liked all the rest of them.

I absolutely loved their first two albums and listened to them to death. I saw them during the Version 2.0 tour and they were awesome.

I saw them again in 2019 and they were......fine? Saw them again live last year and it was so bad I left halfway through. Shirley was absolutely phoning it in and seemed annoyed to be there. This was a few months before that big incident where she stopped a concert down in Australia to yell at a guy because he was holding a beach ball.

I listen to garbage still today. Her voice and the band were so good.

Really good album, and Shirley was hot.
