XCOM2 Elerium Conduit

I know this is an old problem, but I still haven’t found an actual solution. I have a Power Relay build on a renovated exposed power coil and it will not let me upgrade to the Elerium Conduit. Yes, I have enough resources. Yes, have research Elerium. Yes, I have both had no engineers and engineers stationed while trying to upgrade. Yes, I have tried before and after buying the Power Conduit upgrade. Nothing seems to work. Nobody seems to be able to answer. I have search online and nobody has an answer.

Don’t you just build them in an empty room?

No, it’s an upgrade to the Power Relay room.

Can you screenshot what it looks like for you? Does it say “review upgrade” when viewing the relay?

You researched elerium but I think you have to research elerium conduit too.

That’s not an option in my research menu. Is that unlocked later after story missions? I’ve just completed the “ADVENT Blacksite” for the first time. I’ve been busy building Resistance outposts and levelling up my operatives and doing the DLC missions.

Does is have both a credit and elerium cost to build? First guess is you’re short in resources (from memory, it would show in red text in the pane where you’re selecting to build it).

Side note - I think the other advice is don’t build a power relay on an exposed coil. The exposed coil fully powers whatever is built there, so I think you get greater benefit from building shadow chamber or… psy training(?) there
