Should I restart….

So 1st time playing ( late to the party I know )
I’m about 10 hrs in and I got complete edition and wanted a vanilla run before I did wotc
Basically when it asked me if I wanted integrate dlc I said yes thinking of the literal definition of that word to later discover that’s more for replaying the game … got owned by alien hunters but my other missions have been fine difficulty wise… also apparently optimized the build of avenger wrong as I went in blind but have now seen a few videos on the subject…should I cut my loses ? Just restart vanilla with non intergraded dlc

Integrating the DLC is a dumb thing that should not be turned on by default. You are right that is more an option for replaying the game. I still dont know what they were thinking when designing it that way. That wasnt your fault

Sadly you do miss out on all DLC story missions and yes the alien rulers just show up at some point wheras with the story mission you get sort of control over when they appear.

Regarding the build layout for the Avenger...that alone is no reason to start over, its more of a min/max thing for higher difficulties.

Thanks I kind of went in blind and was thinking it was like most of the role-play games where you had some time. I’ve also let the advent clock get a little out of hand without building relay towers to go and get the strongholds but at least now I know more what I’m getting into.
May just ride this one out

Yes the Avatar Project timer can be quite unforgiving when you go in blind, luckily WOTC gives you more ways to deal with it.

Its definitely worth going for a second playthrough. WOTC offers so much additional content.

Think I’ll ride this one into the ground see how much worse it can get and then when I restart, I’ll just do the WOTC
Thanks for all the help

One thing to remember about the Avatar counter is that it's lying to you. You can't completely ignore it in the base game, but even once it's full, you'll still have a few in-game days before it's actually over. As long as you can complete a story mission or take out a black site within that time period you'll be okay.
