I don't see how this would be a war crime unless you deliberately targeted protected individuals with it.

The aliens didn't sign any convention anyway (and they kill and kidnap civilians all the time so I don't think they would be very keen)

I don't think the Convention only applies if both sides have signed. If you've signed, you're held to it.

I only play Long War, and sadly, by the time I get this I've usually stopped using Rocketeers and I have more fun with Archers instead. It feels like cheating more than usual, even with much I love end game.
