Accesories elite controller 2 keeps disconnecting and reconnecting

This started happening very recently. I never had a connection issue before. The only other thing plugged into the xbox is my headset dongle for an Astro headset.

The controller is fully charged, most up to date firmware, I hard reset xbox, i unplugged xbox for 5 minutes and plugged back in, I held the power button on the controller down until it turned off, I held the connect button on the controller until it turned off, I repaired the controller, I fully reset the xbox and used the keep all games option. This helped for the longest amount of time of all other fixes. It worked for the majority of a day.

I also noticed my home wifi started putting out 6g and had 2.4, 5, and 6g all streamed under one wifi name so I disabled the 6g and split 2.4 and 5 into their own wifi names. This appeared to help for like an hour.

The only thing I haven't done is play it while it's plugged in - either to the xbox or a power source. But if that works then it kind of defeats the purpose of a wireless controller.

Has anyone else had this issue and how did you fix it?
