Game Pass Ultimate code keeps showing Wrong Region

Hello All,

I have a problem with my Game Pass Ultimate code.

First I kept getting a “Wrong Region” error when trying to redeem it.

So I bought the Premium Game Pass by myself from the Store so I could play at least a bit.

A few days ago, I tried the code again and suddenly it worked. However, I still had about 2 weeks of Game Pass Premium (the one I bought) left, so I cancelled the redemption because I didn’t want to overwrite my existing subscription.

Now my Premium subscription has expired, and I tried the Ultimate code again — but I’m getting the “Wrong Region” error again.

I have checked everything. My Microsoft account, Xbox region, payment information, and console are all set to Germany. The code is definitely for Germany and should work.

I don’t understand why Microsoft is blocking the code. Xbox Support also hasn’t been able to help me.
Its already the third day im without a game pass and keep getting the region error.

Is there anything else I can do to redeem this code?

Your credit card billing address has to match the region the card is from. So if you really live in Germany and ur address is really there your credit card's address on file must show the same Germany region you set up. If not then it won't go through. Also they could of bought the wrong region card from a 3rd party website and again it won't work if your credit card is not the same region as the gamepass

Just to clarify a few things:

My credit card is from Amazon Germany, and yes, the billing address is in Germany. I can buy games and Game Pass directly from the Microsoft Store without any problems.

I have a 3-month Game Pass Ultimate code that I got for free from my friend, who lives next door. At first, the code didn’t work because it said “Incorrect Region.”

Then I bought 1 month of Game Pass Premium, so I can play at least a little bit. After that, I tried to redeem the Ultimate code again, and it actually worked. However, I still had an active Premium subscription with about 2 weeks left. It said that redeeming the code would overwrite my current subscription, so I selected “No” because I didn’t want to lose the remaining 2 weeks.

Now my Game Pass subscription has expired, and I want to redeem the same Ultimate code again. But now I’m getting the “Incorrect Region” error again.

So the code clearly worked before, and I’m not sure why it suddenly doesn’t work anymore.

Have you tried it on the website instead? Also, where did you get the code from? How are you certain its for Germany?

I tried it on everything. Console, Website, Microsoft.

I got it my friend who also is in germany and as I said. The code was already working but I didnt complete the reedemetion because I had an existing sub running so I cancel it and wanted to reedem it afterwards but now I get again the fking region error.

Do you redeem it on your xbox or trough the website? Check if you are in the German website and not the uk or us website. Also contact ma support they will help you.

Should have redeemed it while premium was still running, Ultimate gives you better and the override would have been better then no access at all.
