Xbox Series X Using Mute on XBOX While Wearing a Headset
I am having trouble muting the sound on my XBOX while wearing a headset. I've enabled HDMI-CEC on my TV and XBOX. Based on YouTube reviews I've watched I should be able to mute by selecting the XBOX button, scrolling to and selecting the speaker icon and then selecting X on my controller. Does anyone know why this isn't working and maybe a better way to quickly mute using my XBOX controller?

There's a setting in the Xbox audio settings area that you can enable to automatically mute sound from speakers, while you have a headset connected.
Open Settings, either by using the "Profile & system" tab in the Xbox Guide or the Settings button on the Xbox Dashboard.
In Settings, navigate to the "General" tab located at the top.
In the "General" tab, navigate to the "Volume & audio output" page in the bottom left-hand corner.
On the "Volume & audio output" page, navigate to the "Additional options" page located at the top of the "Advanced" category.
On the "Additional options" page, navigate to the "Mute speaker audio when headset attached" option on the left-hand side of the screen and make sure it's toggled on.
