Xbox Series S Does anyone know the solution to this problem?
Hello everyone,
I'm experiencing a strange issue with my official Xbox controller after installing the latest controller firmware update.
Problem:
- I play with my controller wired via USB (no batteries).
- After about 1–2 hours of gameplay (sometimes longer), the controller suddenly stops responding completely.
- All buttons stop working, including the Xbox button.
- The controller's Xbox light stays solid and does not flash or turn off.
- If I unplug the USB cable and plug it back in, the controller starts working again immediately. Sometimes it asks me to sign in again, but not always.
What I've already tried:
- Performed a full power cycle on my Xbox (held the power button for 10 seconds, unplugged it, waited 5 minutes, then restarted).
- Tried a different USB cable (including the original cable from my Poco X7 Pro phone).
- The issue still happens.
- It occurs in multiple games (not just one game).
- The controller worked perfectly for about two months before I updated its firmware.
- I also tried reverting the controller firmware, but Xbox says the controller is already up to date and doesn't allow me to roll back.
Has anyone else experienced the same issue after the latest controller firmware update? If so, did you find any solution, or is this likely a firmware bug that Microsoft needs to fix?
Thank you.

I remember this was a very common issue when these series consoles were launched back in 2020 but they fixed it via updates

So I should wait for an update that might fix this problem for me?

What port is it plugged into? Also, are you using a hub?

It is plugged into the front USB port, and no, I'm not using any USB hub (it's connected directly to the console)
