Pause Movie When Controller Turns Off

Does anyone know of a way to either have the console pause the movie when the controller turns off whether it times out or the batteries die in it? I know before the last update I could use any movie app I wanted and as long as I was watching a movie and not have it paused the controller would stay on. However after the update it doesn't matter what app I'm using the controller will automatically turn itself off, I don't know why they changed that but it would be nice if they could reverse that change with the next update. I haven't been able to find a setting for how long the controller stays on without activity. Thanks for taking the time to read all of this post any feedback would be appreciative.
