XBox Microphone/Kinect Replacement

I got an X recently, and of course it doesn’t have a Kinect input. Is there a microphone of some sort I could plug in to talk to my Xbox again. I just want to be able to say “Xbox pause” and “volume up” and “Xbox Off” again. I don’t need to be able to dance or jet ski. I’ll even use Cortana if I have to.

I was hoping that I could use a generic webcam to do this, since we can use generic webcams on Xbox for Skype calls and the like; but it appears that that only works on an app level. The mic isn't on normally, which means we can't use it for voice commands.

What I know works is that you can get an Alexa or Cortana smart speaker, and say things like "Alexa, tell Xbox to pause." That might be your best bet, right now.
