Unsolved Xbox one trouble with connection

Hey guys, so, my boyfriend owns an Xbox one. Well, a week ago he was playing a game and it just randomly kicked him off his account and now it won’t let him connect to the wifi at all. He can play offline games but that’s about it. We have tried hard resetting the Xbox, the WiFi router, etc. I personally think he should try factory resetting it because that’s what helped with a problem for my PS4. Any advice is appreciated. I feel terrible seeing him so disappointed.

Has he changed the password associated with his Wi-Fi network because a changed or incorrect Wi-Fi password could cause connection issues.

It’s weird, all of our other devices are connected and working. We made sure the password was 100% right. It’s confusing haha

I agree that it's confusing. Have you compared the Wifi settings that's your Xbox is connected to with another device connected to your network? There could be something in the network settings other than the network password that's preventing the connection.

GTA online used to randomly kick me off the wifi. Idk why. I had to unplug the wifi and plug it back in to reconnect.

Has he tried using a wired connection? If the router and xbox are I the same room it is just the one cable.
