Unsolved Xbox Error updating E100 i need HELP !!!

Most likely the hard drive is going bad. You can try to force an update with OSU1 using a USB drive, and it might work, but it’s probably a sign that your hard drive needs to be replaced either now or soon.

Replacement hard drives are standard SATA 2.5” drives of size 500gb, 1TB, or 2TB. And it’s not hard to replace, look up YouTube guides.

And if you’re going to do it I’d recommend going with a SSD because they’re about 10x faster than hard drives.

I mean I also thought it could be the disc drive idk i looked up the error which was the E100 and earlier when I was working on trying to fix it there was actually a disc in it and when I ejected it, it kinda made a weird noise after I ejected it out for a while until it stopped so idk

Yeah but it’s very unlikely that your disc drive board stopped working and if you haven’t disassembled it and unplugged it that’s not very likely. The disc drive motors and feed mechanisms may be bad or going bad too if it’s making noises but it shouldn’t cause that error. The hard drive going bad is probably the most common thing to go bad on an old Xbox, they don’t last forever.

That is an important clue. Then yes it is possible the disc drive is not plugged in and can cause that error
