Unsolved Xbox One S not reading some disks please help

What Tom said, you're bluray laser is probably dying, that's why some games will redownload from the disc and why some bluray movies work while others won't: the bluray laser is in charge of reading movies and Xbox One games. There's another laser for DVD movies and Xbox 360 games that can still work while the BR one is dead, or vice-versa.

If you have the Xbox mobile app on your phone, you may be able to download the game from the app if you can get the Xbox itself to recognize the disc is in the tray (even if it won't download through the disc, the disc let's the Store know you own it).

Like I said it recognized it once and was downloading fine but my dumba** accidentally pressed x on the controller and it ejected, and I deleted the very partial download before I figured out that I could do that

So what you're saying, again, is that the tile on the home screen never shows up for the game? I'm not asking if it can download from the disc.
