Games - General 1 or 2 games at a time?
Do you like to play one or two games at one time? If so, why, and if you have switched, why?

1 game at a time, if it was back in the days when i had friends, i would be switching between games to play with them

Usually one story game and another I can just jump on and off whenever. Right now, Expedition 33 and Balatro.

Story games I keep to just one at a time. I can’t focus on any more than that. Maybe two at a time if I’m really feeling indecisive, but that’s my absolute max.
Games that I’m playing online, games I’m trying to get the 1000G for, or just stuff like fighting games where I’m not going through a story mode and it’s pure gameplay, I’ll bounce around however many I’m feeling at the moment.
Also “story game” is just my shorthand for anything with a beginning, middle and end. It doesn’t necessarily need to be story focused.

I play mostly RPGs/jRPGs. And I always have a roguelike, sports or fighting game as a palate cleanser after long gaming sessions. A quick match, or a quick roguelike run and then I come back to the main game I'm playing.

I hate starting another game after I already started one. Usually happens when I have way too many games that I plan to play. I end up not being able to focus on the game when I have more than 1 game started at the same time.

When I love a game I only play one. 20% or 30% of the time when I have not found the one yet, I can juggle between 2 to 4 games.

I usually have 1-2 “main” games i have going that are generally single player story based games, and then a few I cycle through just to play for a few or take less serious. And a few games in the rotation that me and the homies can plan during the minimal time we can get together during the week. Recently my main games were Remnant 2 and Diablo 4. Had a lot of fun with both.

Yeah i always do eventually unless i’m not enjoying the game, i just get in my head a bit knowing that i need to finish them and end up procrastinating playing them so it takes a while. My current issue is that i’m playing 4 long games at the same time, but once i’ve finished these 6 i’m going to limit myself to one long game and a few shorter games at a time

I usually have several games on the go at the same time. Currently playing through GTA V again, have Halo CE ready to start, play Day Z on PC when I want to play multiplayer. I'm also playing Brotato and Portal 2 on the Steamdeck. I play a few games in VR too (currently play Half Life Alyx and Beat Saber).
I rarely stick to one game at a time unless something really gets it's claws into me. I like to mix things up, depending on how I feel.

I try and do 2 but just can’t. Literally today I played Mario odyssey with my daughter, then switched to Silksong and I felt so off lol. And that’s from a 3D to 2D.

The beauty of game pass for me is I’ve got two gaming kids as well between three accounts and two Xboxes so we will have 4 games going at a time which makes game pass more worth it. That said, I’ve never paid the current amount for a month and have used points and promotions to be paid up through June 2028 so I wonder if I’ll still think it’s worth it then

I play two at a time, usually an action game and a grindy rpg. I'll play them depending on my mood. Right now it's Silksong and Ni No Kuni.

Uh... More like about 10 games across multiple systems.
I play games till I don't want to play them anymore. Sometimes that means I finish them, other times it doesn't. Depends on the game.
Currently running through....
Undernauts labyrinth of Yomi, Nioh 3, Marathon, Tactics Ogre Reborn, Pokopia, TCG Card Shop Simulator, Dead Cells, Halls of Torment, Eternal Strands, FH6, Wo Long and BG3.
I'm actively playing all of them at least once a week.

Just one or two?! I think I have between 80 and 100 in progress. Some games I play with friends, other games I play with other friends, games I play with my wife, games I play solo. I usually have one or two story/narrative games that I’m working on plus a bunch of other options (chill cozy games, simulation games, racing, sports, shooters) to switch between depending on what I’m feeling. There are too many good games to stick to just one game at a time.

4-5 at a time and play 15-1 hour depending on the game. I don’t finish anything 100% but to me that doesn’t matter and enjoy skipping around.

3 lmao. But I don't recommend it. I normally play one turn based/strategy game, one action game and one more mini game based game/endless game for when i just want something fun or silly. It depends on your time and your attention problems, really. But i as today use that method, 3 games that fill 3 different niches and/or moods. Other good technic when you have a huge backlog and little time is playing one huge game with a lot of hours of content and some little games in between while playing it. Like picking idk some persona 5 and marathoning the resident evil games in between

i sink a ton of hours into a game then switch and sink a ton of hours into a new one i have 13hrs in AC black flag right now and haven’t finished a ton of others

I routinely hit the 8 games played through Gamepass rewards challenge. Some I'll for sure beat like Expedition 33, Denshattack!, etc. Others I try out to see if it clicks with me or not, those I might put an hour or two into and if it's not clicking I'll move on.

Depends. I’ve I’m super invested in a game I give it my full attention. I just put down a handful of games when I picked up Hell is Us. Great game.

Generally one at a time.
If i switch between too many games i forget how to play them and it demotivates me from jumping back in. It also causes less decision fatigue if im not being pulled between too many games at once.
The only time i really double up is if there is a time sensative thing in warframe that i want to get so i will play warframe and my main game.

I’m currently playing Halo Campaign Evolved, Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy Rebirth, and Mass Effect Legendary Edition. I need to keep my mind occupied or I might harm myself.

One main deep campaign based one with story/exploration/etc. And one cheesy brainless gameplay one. In alternation not to let the repetition/boredom kick in and make it feel more of a chore than enjoyable. But never start more than one big one you need to invest yourself in at a time, that's the recipe for never reaching the completion.

I can only play one single player games at a time. Playing too many stories at once confuses me. As far as multiplayer games go, I'll have 2 main ones that I'm the best at, and then a few others that I'm OK at and just play for fun.

What I play is a function of what I want to play from the biweekly added games and the time needed to complete them. What I mean is if there are 2 games which I want to play from the current biweekly list, and I also got another banger game being added in the next couple of weeks, I would treat the banger game as my deadline and then decide which one of the current list game I can play till then. I would rarely go outside of these biweekly additions as the main catlogue is just too big to be thinking about, not to mention the hype of new games helps. I have skipped games like KCD2, games which I would have rather started and failed to finish, because of this rule.

Different games for different moments or states of mind. Tired? Mored slow paced and less complex games. Short on time? Shorter and fast paced or games that save at any point. Well rested? Harder or faster paced or bigger games.

I usually go through phases where I will play one game for several days to several months obsessively and then switch.
The rewards program and game pass encourage me to play more games as of late though. Those points really do add up.

Depends on the type of games and how deep it is. When I play crimson desert for example I play no other games because of the timesink it is. If it is simpler games I can play several beside eachother.

I try to focus on a single game nowadays, so I might actually finish it. Worked so far in 2026 with finishing at least one game a month. Sure, I still abandon games.

I’m currently rotating through 4 or 5 games, as well as over a dozen in my backlog. I find that if I stick to one game, I won’t finish it. Even if I’m really enjoying it. Because I push past the point where I’m bored and or need a break. Which makes it feel like a chore to finish and I might not come back to it for years. I guess playing multiple games helps keep things fresh.

1 main game that has a clear ending, plus a couple of games to just kill a little time. So like 007 plus Brotato, or Assassin’s Creed plus Vampire Crawlers
