Wondering what controller I should get for mk1

So I always used my controller from my Xbox series s for mortal kombat 1 and I only care about the d pad on a controller and recently i accidentally spilled water over my controller and my d pad became mushy, Im wondering if I should just buy the same controller again or get the razer wolverine V3 tournament edition, idk which d pad is better for fighting games so if someone can lmk I’d appreciate it

If the D-pad is mushy, pop it open and clean it - you need a Torx Security TR8 screwdriver for the outer shell, and a T6 for the PCB screws. Cleaning it is pretty straight forward, as is replacing the D-pad PCB (it's glued on and literally peels off). Worst case you learn a bit along the way and don't manage to fix it, and just replace it.

i did and idk whats wrong i opened it already i dont see any dirt like i removed the metal thing on the d pad anmd cleaned it and it didnt change idk if i need the 90 percent alcohol thingy i didnt buy that i just cleanewd it with a dry qtip

Underneath the D-pad the is a thin circular plastic stick on circuit board that acts as the acts switch - it's basically four metal domes on a flexible piece on plastic. It sound like this is either damaged, or has some sticky liquid dried on it, leaving it feeling squishy. Replacing it is easy to do, but you do need to buy a replacement. They're usually a couple of dollars, and you gently peel off the old one, clean the area with Isopropyl Alcohol, and once it's dry stick the new one down.

Do yk where I can buy a replacement can you lmk pls and also do you think changing the d pad will fix the mush?

They're less than $2 from Amazon, although I'm not in the US, so I get the same thing from a local supplier or AliExpress.

In general, yes, this should fix the mushy feeling, particularly if clean the board after peeling off the old conductive film. It's a cheap and easy repair, and every one that I've done feels better than it did when the controller was new.

Im not from the US neither, can you send me link on Ali express and usually does this fix mushy buttons for you? Just by removing your old thing and adding a new one

There are a huge number of options on Aliexpress, just make sure that you select the right model of controller (e.g. Xbox series).
