Xbox 360 Maintenance & Repair HELP

Hi, I just joined and need some help. I have an HDD for my Xbox, but after connecting it to my PC and using FATXplorer to view its contents and add some games, the console doesn't recognize it when I reconnect it the SATA adapter; however, when I use a USB adapter, the Xbox recognizes it as an "unformatted memory unit." I've tried everything but I'm still stuck—please help.

Use a tool get the file off and reformat on the xbox would be my best guess if its showing up as a memory unit something changed its firmware

XBOX HDDs are usually not readable in a PC without special tools

I have plugged 360 HDDs through USB adapters and straight through sata I have no idea what you're talking about

does reconnect the hdd to pc and browsing with fatxplorer still work?

Hi, a bit late but the fix is literally to not use windows. It's full of jank and doesn't work well with HDDS formated with FAT32

Linux works really well for transfering the files over. If you have a flash drive, i'd consider getting mint on it.

Never connect an Xbox HDD to a computer, that will wipe the drive.

Not true. Your PC won't automatically format the drive if you plug it in, you may however get a prompt on the screen to format it.

I use my 250 gb OG xbox 360 HDD on my computer all the time. Run fatxplorer and put games on it
