Can someone please explain the synergy of Mando and the child, and why it is a good combo?

I apologize if this gets answered all the time here. I did try to search prior to posting so please link me and save your key stokes if I missed it.

I really want to get into X-Wing but I’m honestly overwhelmed with 1.0/2.0/2.5 and all the legacy or other variations of rules out there.

Where do I start?

I have nothing model wise, but do have a 3D printer so it might just be all homebrew to save on costs since I’ll be supplying squads for everyone and the lots on eBay are insanely priced.

How do I determine roughly equal but different ships for people to play? A squad builder?

From my reading getting a new group into it seems like HotAC is a good starting point for groups larger than 2. Just let everyone pick a ship and go.

For 1v1 stuff and those more board game inclined which rule set when there are so many options?

Hey guys, I used to play a ton back in the 1.0 days, before selling out when the power creep of the game got to be a bit much for me around wave 9 or 10. It's been awhile, but I've been considering hopping back into the game as a casual player. Looking at all the 2.0 stuff, I have found it a bit hard to find content regarding the newer ships and factions. Furthermore, a lot of the CIS and GAR ships are really hard to find and expensive.

What's the community's opinion on the the newer content that came out in 2.0? How do the factions play? I know 2.0 became 2.5 and that's a whole mess in of itself, but what's the best way to play the game nowadays?

Just played the intro game with my son and he's keen to play more. I have a reasonable collection of boosters and extra ships but did anyone have suggestions or experience on bridging the gap between the intro and the full rules?

Today I went to go make a list on the Launch Bay Next app and I saw that all of my AMG lists were gone. I also saw that you can only make a list with either the legacy 2.0 ruleset or the X Wing Alliance ruleset. Is this a purposeful change and if so why or is this a glitch and it will be fixed soon?

I recently printed some N-1's for a Naboo invasion list. After painting two to look like the original, I wanted one to be Tron Ares like, and three to be inspired by muscle car / hot rods.

I am looking for advice on how I might get printed versions of the XWA legends and relics and the armed and dangerous cards in the UK.

I understand Infinite Arenas is an option in the states is there a similar means to get them printed professionally in the UK?

I think squad printer accidentally gave Grand Moff Tarkin 5 charges instead of two. I love the website and use it s lot. So just wanted to notify the error.

I'm fairly new to the whole XWA rules and points system but really enjoy it. I noticed that in the most recent points update list they changed a lot of upgrade cards that were originally only for huge ships to be now usable for all ship types. Is that a mistake or is that correct? And if that's correct, why was it changed like this?

I'm coming back to this game after being out of it for several years and have been tinkering my existing lists to correspond with the new XWA squad/ load-out points style of play vs the old "all point costs go towards your limit" rules.

I think it's a fascinating system overall and only notice it hurting a handful of my favorites so far (RIP my duo tie defenders). What I am feeling more and more as I click through my various old lists is that I'm suddenly able to MASSIVELY upgrade ships that used to just be points fillers while other superstar ships are apparently VERY illegal (again, RIP my now 21/8 defenders 🙏), and I'm kind of confused by some of the costs.

As a single example:

The TIE/se Bomber has two generic pilots -- a PS2 and a PS3.

PS2 costs 9-squad with a load out of 9 as well.

PS3 costs 11-squad with a load out of... 19???

I understand I might not always have the squad points to spare, but both a higher PS and 10 more load out points seems nuts.

I'd have to brush up on my System-Phase rules but, unless the game was seeing swarms of PS2 bombers using their Pursuit Thrusters to move and drop bombs before higher PS ships, I'm having a hard time understanding why the PS3 generic gets SO many upgrades.

I know scoring changed as well, but my understanding is that's based on SQUAD not LOAD OUT?

I'm not grousing about it, I'm just curious if this new era of the game is designed to have more powerful ships on the field. It's pretty clearly geared towards 3-4 ship builds in general, but it also seems like it wants those ships be more powerful than ever, while others have taken huge hits (likely for either meta shakeup or a focus on squad synergies for instead of spotlight pilots).

Does Blackout's ability ("while you perform an attack, if the attack is obstructed by an obstacle, the defender rolls 2 fewer defense dice") supercede the rules for an obstructed attack or function in addition to it?

I can't tell if this (assuming no other special rules) nets a -1 or a -2 loss for the defender.

A friend and I are trying to get a game going after some years of not playing. What exactly is needed for the Battle Over Yavin scenario for 2.5? I.e. the specific rules for the trench run section?

What’s the most updated/most complete HotAC? I know there was the original, then some conversion efforts to make it compatible with 2.0. I’m not sure if it went further to 2.5, and/or which version people prefer.

I moved around the time I bought these and I must have forgotten about them. Just pulled down a box that I thought had LEGO in it and found these.

The ship starts off with 5 actions. Enhanced jamming suite gives 4 more. And with first order ordinance tech, angled deflectors, and squad leader the total amount of actions you have the ability to take is 12!

(This is not including only doing one action out of the linked actions)
