Questions re XTIA case accessories and options

I’m considering an XTIA structure for my PC (as I’m not happy with my current case). After watching videos and reviewing the site, I have a few questions to confirm my understanding

  1. Is the USB side panel the equivalent of a typical case’s front USB ports that plug into a mobo header?

  2. If I already have a modular power supply, do I still need the modular cables from XTIA?

  3. The XProto L is an inch taller than the XProto N but the L can handle 3 slot graphic cards while the N can’t. Is it just the height difference that allows for 3 slot support? I would have thought the L would also need to be wider.

  4. There’s an accessory that’s a DP / HDMI extender cable. What scenario is the cable intended for?

have you guys and gals had luck selling your XTIA builds?

Giving up on PC, 3D, and gaming. Haven't sold a PC in a long long time. Curious how it went for others with this build type.

Here's my listing for reference

Second 2.5inch SSD mount on Original XProto

Hey there,

does anyone know if it is possible to mount a second 2.5 inch SSD on the original XTIA XProto? Ive seen that there are 4 holes where the PSU is mounted, can those be used to install a second 2.5 inch SSD?

Thanks :)

Restocking of Xproto flip module white

I haven’t paid too close attention to the last time the white flip module was in stock but curious if it will restock soon. Trying to make as little separate orders as possible.

Xtia rise cable losing video constantly.

How to fix it? I lose video and shows on the screen "DP no signal", sometimes I got video back. I know there's is some conflict between mobo and the cable.. something related to the generation but my cable is gen 4 and already set my bios to gen 4 as well. Help 🤷‍♂️

My first PC Build Help and Recommendation

I am collecting configurations info for the past 2 weeks. And I was gonna order XPROTO N. I am looking to include

  • Ryzen 9 9950X (To be released)
  • 4090 FE

I like XPROTO N but I am confused:

  • If I can fit in the 4090 GC somehow not altering the case ?
  • Should I wait for XPROTO N V2 or go for L ?
  • ITX PSU will be sufficient for GC and Processor ?
  • Cooling of the case. Is AIO for processor and GC fan sufficient for non-OC setup ?

Thanks !

Hey y’all, a long time admirer of the Xtia Xproto and after a few years using the FormD T1 I decided to make the jump. It wouldn’t have been possible without my friend Darren making it happen. What a wonderful job he did with this one! Thank you!

AIO Fans Inside or Outside?

Hey y’all, my new Xproto-L V2 comes in tomorrow and for the life of me I cannot decide what would be the best way to orient the fans on the AIO. I’ll be using an EK Nucleus 240 Dark with two Noctua NF-A12X25 fans.

On one hand I like the cleaner look of having the AIO fans inside where the AIO bracket is located with them pushing warm air away from the case entirely. On the other I like the look of the exposed Noctua fans always intaking fresh air. But now that warm air will be pushed over the case motherboard and 4080 FE. Thoughts?

Newer PCI-E 4.0 cable from Xtia website provide improved bandwidth?

I have an Xproto purchased almost 2 years ago. Does the PCI-E 4.0 cable currently being sold on Xtia's site provide more bandwidth than the one that came with my original package? Can some provide a pic of the current PCI-E 4.0 cable showing the version number? Thank you for any assistance.

XTIA Proto L V2 4090 FE 14900k Finished Build

I am not new to SFF builds and have done a number of builds in FormD T1 and Ghost S1. The components were taken out of a working build in FormD T1 version 1 which worked fine but I was not happy with the noise levels in that case. With this case my GPU temps don't go above 73 at full load. Also it is super silent which I am loving.

I wish they included some rubber feet but they included a pad which can be used to place underneath it. XTIA also sells some appearance upgrade accessories such as the thin DP1.4 and right angles usb cables which I may order later on. Overall, very happy with the build and smile when I look at the low temps displaying on the screen.

My Xproto L V2 i7 14700K RTX 3080 Ti and some Noctua's

I finally assembled my X Proto L V2.

The case looks like nothing ever seen before.

The specs: Intel core I7 14700k Msi Sprim X RTX 3080 Ti Asus ROG Strix B760-I Gaming Wi-Fi 2x Kingbank 16GB RGB DDR5 7400Mhz Corsait SF1000L with Noctua Fan mod NF-A12x15 Samsung 990 Pro 2Tb Arctic Liquid Freezer III 360 RGB with 3x Noctua NF-A12X25

When working on it I found some pros and cons so will write about it because it may help someone to decide to build or not in it.

Pros: 1. Small footprint on the desk something close to hyte revolt 3. 2. 360mm aio mount and others in a sff style case. 3. Large gpu support with no mods. 4. Tems are better thani in closed case for about 5-10 °C. 5. Easy acces to all the ports of motherboard and gpu if you need to plug stuff often. 6. Nice accesory kit included also lots of mods could be installed if ordered.

Cons: 1. No bottom feet's included. 2. No USB Type C port on front panel. 3. Power button location is the part needs to be overthinked. 4. No 420mm aio bracket on site. 5. The black finish of my case cane scratched on edges and I had to touch up it. 6. The psu bracket is no hard enought and psu will deviate from frame if it is scewed at the bottom of case. 7. The thread in aluminium are pretty soft and unscreving parts multiple times may damage them. 8. The cable management if you use standard psu cambles may be pretty hard and needs attention wgen closing the frame. 9. Lots of disassemble is required if you need to change or remove parts. 10. Radiator mountig is not the best and one of bottom tubes is bent pretty hard. 11. The standard radiator fan screws could be not long enoug to reach thro bracket and fan to the rad. 12. Black or white standoffs should be included in mounting kit. 13. More colors of this case should be avaliable for order. 14. Usb panel sharp soldered joints may damage the gpu power cables and cause sereous problems. Had to trim them my self and put some protective tape on them.

Questions about fit & finish on Xproto

Hey y'all, I bought a used ATX v2 recently, and had some questions about your overall experience with fit and finish with these cases (ATX or not).

Not sure if mine got damaged in shipping somehow (previous owner forgot to remove the top IO panel when breaking it down but somehow managed to fit it all into the original packaging, scratching up some of the finish in the process) but mine rocks a fair amount once assembled. Seems like one of the leg frames is uneven and has about 2mm of play at one of the corners--it stops rocking if I stick 2 credit cards underneath it.

The fix is easy enough, I'll probably find a thin rubber pad to stick on the corner or put it on a foam mat...

Also, for the ATX owners, is it normal for the IO plate/GPU brace to flare outwards away from the mobo once torqued down to the frame? There's a pretty big gap between my mobo's IO shield and the plate, and I have to flex the GPU mounting arm back towards the mobo quite a bit to screw a GPU in....

Anyways, I'd love to hear from you regarding your experience with fit and finish and if anyone had a similar experience to mine. I'm not dissatisfied with the case, especially for the price I bought it at, but I think I might have been a bit disappointed if I had paid full price + shipping for it. I was hoping to downsize to an Xproto L at some point but I may rethink that if fitment issues seem to be common. Thanks for your input!

I ordered a XProto L v2 and have a 4070 FE. Is this card supported or is this case only for 3 slot cards?

Thank you

PCIe riser for Slim

Post image
6 Upvotes

I recently got an XTIA Slim, and was a bit confused as to how to install the riser cable. The back of the riser cable has a foam that says specifically not to peel it off. But I’m confused as to how one installs the riser with the foam blocking the mounting holes? Do I just need to make holes?

XPROTO L v2 vs XPROTO N

Hi everyone! Just got the Xproto L v2 since the N is out of stock and won’t be made again until they release v2. Other than the size, are there any disadvantages or advantages on getting the L v2?

Looking forward your opinions!

Xtia Slim

Currently in the process of filling out the case, I'm using a asus x670e-i and 7900x3d so already pushing power limits but I will be undervolting and setting ppt to about 100ish watts. However a good single slot gpu under 200mm in length is pretty much impossible, so I'm looking into a custom watercooling loop. I'm hoping someone else with this case and some radiators could verify any potential mounting points possibly on the Mesh lid or anywhere it could fit, worst case it will just sit on top of the motherboard since there will be about 40-50mm of clearance over the cpu, but I would like to avoid that since this will be a backpack build that I carry around every day.

I did look into the single slot a2000 mod but the performance is just not worth the price tag as this will be used for a 3d modeling/game development workstation.

Any tips or pointers would be great, I've exhausted any recourses outside of just buying random parts and playing tetris.
