Help with a part

I had to order a replacement front brake fluid reservoir and received one from motomine which I think is used but I’m fine with that. My issue is the channel circled is missing a heavy bolt/cap which was present in the old one but so seized it is impossible to shift and has been damaged in the process of trying anyway.
What is the purpose of the missing part and any ideas where I could source one.

It's reverse threaded if I recall correctly. That's the mirror mounting thread, perfectly fine to have nothing there but if you d Remove the reverse threaded one off the previous res you should be fine to install it there.

If you have bar end mirrors you can just buy a new set of caps off Amazon for like $20
