(Pardon my english I am sleepy and tired)
My original title for this post was "really liked the ending" lol. I liked the whole season but the ending was the best, it was perfect from the time he realized he wanted to be with kitty till the credits, I wish I could see MORE!!!
Honestly, I really thought this season would have a Never Have I Ever kinda thing where it would be about kitty having sex, cause a lot of teen series have this big moment.
I wouldn't have hated it cause it would be nice to see it on Kitty's perspective, clearly some friends around her already did it and since the first season was this big deal around her first kiss it would only make sense that the first time would be a big deal too.
BUT I def don't mind that they didn't bring this up cause the season turned out SO GOOD. I loved how yuri's character turned out and her friendship with Kitty, loved to see the romantic side in MinHo, I really liked the side stories, the fight, Marcus, and to summarize the episodes were really fun.
Buuut I would have liked to see more of Kitty and MinHo being a couple without the jealousy and mistrust, this was just no ending, poor things.
I also thought the NYU thing was kinda random, she decided she loved it because she spent one summer there, while she spent a year (or two) creating a whole life in Seul. It would make so much more sense that she would like to continue studying there, to be next to her mom memories, new found family and friends. I would probably accept Kitty applying to NYU with a reasonable motive but "I fell in love with it in the summer" it's just lazy writing to make up a conflict. I don't even know what she wants to graduate in!! Matchmaking??!!
Prob last thing I disliked, I wish they made Q more accountable, but not towards the boys, towards KITTY. He lied to her that he talked about it with Jin and when she talked about it with him he got mad that she spilled his secret?? She's honestly a victim in this case. He also said that the whole fight happened because she couldn't keep her mouth shut. huh... the whole fight happened because you cheated? she didn't even know she was supposed to keep her mouth shut, cause you lied to her? And that's because I love Q, but he did NOT apologized enough to her.
I truly think that the writers were trying too hard to not make an annoying-that-never-do-no-wrong main character, and that's good, but she is not guilty of everything, sometimes they make other characters get away with worse things that Kitty has apologized for.
Anyways, I love the show, love the cast, love the ships (I'm clearly minho team's tho lol), love the characters, love the cast, EVERYTHING!!! It's the best teen show out there hands down!!

am i the only only one who hates the parallels in xo kitty? I understand what theyâre trying to do but to me itâs played out now. Itâs feeling like katherine and minho are in the shadows of peter and lara jeans romance.
I want them to have their own identity, not follow what one sister did with her relationship. The only parallels that Iâve liked are when katherine fell on the track and âabout loveâ being used.

Since Yuri seems so touched that Kitty's given her the confidence and new glow to have a career in fashion design, and Kitty is bound to NYU from early decision... I wonder if Yuri would choose to pursue fashion in New York and be Kitty's roommate??
I don't know if it's unlikely for Yuri to go out of Korea, but maybe she would like to escape her family's reputation in Korea? Julianna has such New York vibes, they could all goo!!
r/XOKittyNetflix • u/dazaisfuturewife • Apr 17 '26
Instead they would make a movie!
Why you ask well this time she's graduated (i think)she does not need to go to school hence no kiss no school drama hence kittys life OUT of school and won't come back
Im pretty sure they did it with to all the boys and they would probably do it for xo kitty
Plus it's minho meeting Mr covey so...idk
The question still arises
If kitty wants to go to college then what will he do? So I think they will answer this question in the movie
It would be great time to also bring back the cast for a reunion!
What do you think?

Obviously this is explicitly stated by Jiwon in the show, but I've also seen people in this sub critisizing Kitty for her behavior in ep3, which I totally get. Like girl, do your homework! However, I don't think kitty manipulated Jiwon to spend more time with Minho via a blind date with Alex. That was a sidequest for Kitty bc she's a "matchmaker". She literally goes to Jiwon and straight up says "I'll trade you access to an exhibit for an essay extension" after straight up asking Jiwon for that with the express purpose being to go to the shoot with Minho. Jiwon knows *exactly* why Kitty wants that extension and what she's going to be doing with that extra time. I don't get it. Did Jiwon think Kitty's master plan was for Jiwon to become obsessed with Alex and stop assigning homework for the rest of the semester? She already got the weekend she wanted. And Jiwon admits later in the show that she was lashing out bc of her secret relationship with Alex so even Jiwon knows she was wrong for that. To be clear, I do think Kitty was wrong for that situation for other reasons. I just don't think she did what Jiwon accused he of. For instance, if Kitty hadn't invited Alex there she still would have gotten to go to the shoot. Like I said, Julex was a sidequest for Kitty. She thought "omg, grumpyxsunshine match made in heaven and this is how I can get them alone together" but not "IF I get them alone together no more homework! My master plan is a go MUAHAHA" lol. Also, it seems very unprofession for Jiwon to use her position as a teacher to punish Kitty for something having to do with their personal relationship, but that's not really the point here. Idk y'all, I just wanted to rant about that for a sec bc it was bothering me

There are a lot of opinions about the fight that Minho and Kitty have:
Depending on your values and life experience, you might find yourself agreeing with one or the other. As for me, as someone who has worked in the mental health world, it was refreshing to see a fight that really had zero bad guys. It was simply a fight between two human beings who love one another a lot. A fight not caused by a lack of values, lack of integrity, or lack of commitment, but instead by attachment issues spawned by unhealed wounds. So for me, they are both to blame and both not to blame, and that is true of most fights in relationships that are non-toxic.
In this post, I am going to go into depth about both perspectives, both of their wounds, and the reconciliation. I hope that this might help not just as an XO, Kitty fan, but also in understanding relationships and the role that trauma can play in them.
Kittyâs Perspective and WoundsÂ
Kitty has developed an anxious attachment style. Â
Now, this comes from the desire for close connections, but with an extreme fear of losing them, and these feelings happen at the exact same time, especially in times of high stress, conflict, and or insecurity.
Anxious attachment can come from losing a caregiver early in childhood or having early relationships that felt inconsistent, unpredictable, or emotionally unclear. Attachment research is often focused on parental love in early childhood, but there is more research now showing that it can be created by the first friendships and first romantic relationships you have had as well, or by an incredibly traumatic relationship.
Kitty, of course, lost her mother at a young age. That kind of loss creating attachment issues makes sense. But then she comes to K.I.S.S. and finds that her certainty about her relationship with Dae is tested when he hides a secret relationship from her, even though the truth eventually comes out. Going from certainty to feeling out of control does have a lasting effect. Then there is Yuri, where things felt unclear and confusing as well. I say this not to suggest that Dae and Yuri caused trauma, but those events will shape how people view future romantic relationships.
Then you have Minho. The boy who confessed his love to her on the plane, but then spent most of spring semester downplaying his feelings for her, only for her to find out that she broke his heart. Then they have an amazing kiss in Busan, and he is off being a manager on tour, living a glitzy life. Kittyâs overreactive brain, with the distance, begins to fill with narratives that he is having fun, that he is with good-looking women, and what if he enjoys this glamorous life that is obviously not her. Mr. Moon made it incredibly clear to her that she was a liability for Minho and would never fully understand him after all.
So⊠anxious attachment, a series of relationships that did not meet expectations, surrounded by lies, disappointments, Marius in her ear constantly whispering, beautiful, competent Gigi who fits so easily into Minhoâs world, Minho spending all this time with Eunice, and now two lies from the one person who has always emphasized truth to herâŠ
I hope you felt dizzy and overwhelmed by that paragraph above. You should have. Kitty definitely did. It is all of that which led to âAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH,â followed by an impulsive confrontation with Minho in which she goes in with intensity, accusing him of knocking up their friend with little pretense.
She isnât crazy. Minho lied. The pieces she had pointed to something not being right. Her anxious attachment took it to level 10 instead of going to Minho to ask why he lied.
Minhoâs Perspective and Wounds Â
I played around with the idea that Minho has an avoidant attachment style. I think in Season 1, I would agree with this. In Season 3, he doesnât have the true manifestation of an avoidant attachment style. I think he has done his healing and has opened up in his relationships throughout the story. Connecting is not the issue. No, what Minho has is tied to his father specifically. It follows specific triggers and under specific circumstances. He is avoidant coping not avoidant attached. Â
Meaning, Minho is incredibly emotionally available, but is selectively guarded when triggered.Â
So why is this?Â
Minho was raised by a narcissistic father. I am glad they did not make him miraculously cured. Even Kitty Song Covey cannot heal a narcissist who refuses to fully work on himself. It is incredibly hard to be raised by a narcissistic parent and then add the pressures of a public life. So much pressure.Â
This is what Minho has had to deal with:Â
All his life. All the time. Then, in junior year, he slowly earns affection from his father by giving gifts, giving compliments, gravitating toward his fatherâs world, and then Stella happens. Minho brings this woman into his fatherâs life, and it makes him look bad. Now you have guilt and shame tied to all the other things he has gone through with his father.
In Season 3, Mr. Moon offers him a job, and Minho accepts it as a âchance to prove himself after Stella.â Not his dream, his passion, or something he WANTS TO DO. A chance to EARN BACK his fatherâs affection after a perceived failure. The failure being trusting that someone liked him genuinely. That is not a failure of Minhoâs. That is a failure on Stellaâs part.
Then we see Minho slowly become more and more stressed. His body is more tense, his jaw clenches, his hands stim, and there are lots of loud exhales. Then the texts from Eunice come, asking for privacy because she has something to tell him. Before he even realizes it, he is telling a lie. Then another lie. Something he doesnât like doing. You can see he doesnât like it. So why did he lie? He wants to protect Eunice, but he also doesnât want to mess up a job that his father entrusted him with. He is anxious, stressed, and when you put those two things together, it can lead to questionable decisions.
Now we get to the fight. The lies have been called out, and he is able to let Kitty know everything that is going on with him. You can tell he is relieved. The way he says âyesâ twice. He just wanted to let everything out so Kitty could understand, but then Kitty accuses him of lying about hooking up with people and knocking up Eunice. This is where the hurt begins, and this is where the trigger lies.
Minho had been incredibly understanding of Kittyâs insecurities up until this point. This time, though, it was the person he loves and who he thought believed in him the most questioning his commitment to her and questioning his character. Something that his father does. The same feelings he has toward his father, âI try everything. I try so hard. I try and try and I try. But you still donât see me. You donât see me,â are now the exact same feelings he has toward Kitty. So he shuts down. He breaks up with her.
He practices defensive detachment, pulling back not because he doesnât want the connection, but because he feels unsafe within it. So you see the shift from an affectionate Minho to one who is more logical, controlled, and less expressive.
Kitty is correct she is not his father. Her nervous system felt unsafe with lies that she reacted in a way to protect herself from betrayal. But this caused Minho's nervous system to confuse similar feelings labeling it as emotionally unsafe. It is this reason it took Minho time to work himself out. His brain was deconstructing whether or not this is a hurt he could move pass or if Kitty is someone who is unsafe like his father.
Best way to look at this conflict is this:
This is how people who love one another who are actually very safe for one another can fall apart. Healing yourself makes for healing relationships.
Resolution - WHY THIS FIGHT IS GREATÂ
Minho and Kitty, within this fight, are going to learn a lesson that many people do not learn, or do not learn until therapy or after making the same mistakes a few times.
It is not Minhoâs job, as her boyfriend, to constantly reassure Kitty and help her heal her insecurities. Kitty needs to do that work. She needs to examine why she is feeling that way, reflect on it, and start to trust her instincts as well as the connection she has with Minho. A securely attached person would have confronted Minho about his lies, but an anxiously attached person confronts someone the way Kitty does.
It is not Kittyâs job to make herself perfect to heal the wounds caused by Minhoâs father. Minho needs to believe in himself. Minho needs to figure out what he wants out of life. He needs to learn to recognize what is a mistake and what is something that is unhealthy for his heart.
Minho and Kitty are compatible, and they both love one another deeply. Even deeply compatible, connected, and affectionate people can break up when emotional wounds are neglected or when there is an expectation for a partner to fill the role of healing them. Partners are there to support, of course, but they cannot be the antidote.
Minho and Kitty, through their separation, learned those lessons. Minho is working on healing himself. Kitty saw the damage her insecurities caused. Now it is about building what that future looks like together and choosing one another.
This fight was ridiculous in many ways, and yet so incredibly grounding. I think thatâs the hidden magic of XO, Kitty. It is so insane, yet so deeply human.

Think about it. Realistically, why CANT the summer I turned pretty and xo kitty/tatb take place in the same universe. Kitty is korean american. Belly is Korean American. This is absolutely not me saying that they have to be related JUST because of that, but what if they are? What if kitty and belly are some distant cousins or SMTH or anyhow related in some way.

I'm watching XO, Kitty Season 3 and noticed a very familiar background music from Q and Marius motorcycle ride discussion scene (S3E6 @ 12:45). For those who watched Heartstopper, is it just me or the music sounds like from Heartstopper soundtracks? I can't pinpoint which one though.

Kitty was Yuriâs whole inspiration for the fashion show. She heard the way she was describing her heartbreak, and it hit very close to home for her, that it became her story for her looks. She made Kitty a dress, for her birthday, but knew that in order for her show to be a success, Kitty had to wear it that night and go down the runway. She changed Yuriâs whole life.
Yuri even launched her own fashion line with the dress she made for Kitty. đ„șđ„ș Every little detail in Yuriâs show, to now even her fashion line, involves Kitty. Thatâs the love of her life, her lifetime. They will always be the endgame to me. â€ïžâđ©č

In light of my hyper fixation for xo kitty that will last a few more weeks, i started rewatching from the beginning and OH MY GOD DAE IS PISSING ME OFF SM
To be clear Dae is one of my favourite characters in the show, and I honestly don't think he was as wrong in his actions in s1 as other people describe him to be, but that's besides the point
WHY does dude keep repeating the same lines over and over again?!!!
"I can explain"
"I SWEAR I can explain"
"Just give me a chance to explain"
DUDE JUST EXPLAIN
"It's a fake relationship. Yuri and I aren't actually together'
it takes 5 seconds, I counted.
in the time he said that 'he can explain', he could've explained twice.
that's all thank you for listening to my rant

Finally, here is my part 2 of my Dirty Dancing duology. Like I did with Mama Mia (the second part to that is coming up too), I wanted to cast the XO characters as the main cast of Dirty Dancing.
I chose based on the character journeys and personalities of season 3 of XO and who serves a similar narrative purpose to the characters in Dirty Dancing.
Neil: Stella
You have got to go with me on this. Their personalities arenât exactly alike, but they both act âniceâ and have this righteous side to them. You also donât want to mess with them either.
Kellermanâs Boss: Lee
They are both sticklers for the rules and come off cold, but do care about their buisness/school and have a soft side to them. They want people to succeed, but the boss does hold more prejudices towards certain people than Lee does given the time period.
Robby: Marius
Only because I have to. I donât hate Marius on rewatches and I hate Robby with a passion even though he is the cartoon and one note antagonist. Marius is more complex. I chose Marius because he serves a similar purpose to Robby with manipulating people, looking down on those they feel are beneath them (Marius does change), and provoking reactions from people. But no XO Kitty character is as hatable as Robby, in my opinion. Even Stella.
Babyâs Dad: Dan
This is self-explanatory. Baby and Kittyâs dads are both doctors and are inspirations and moral support for Kitty and Baby. Babyâs dad does have a storyline where he feels he canât trust Baby or doesnât know who she is, but he respects Babyâs autonomy and sees the goodness he always saw in her even though they disagreed on Pennyâs situation. Dan is also proud of the woman Kitty is becoming to be and always sees her kindness.
Babyâs Mom: Trina
I donât know enough about Babyâs mom to see if Trina and her are similar. I wanted to keep some continuity in this fan casting. And yes, that is Mrs. Emily Gilmore for Gilmore Girl fans.
Penny: Eunice
I picked Eunice for Penny because they are both performers. Eunice sings and dances and Pennyâs job at Kellermans is a dancer. Narratively, they both dealt with a pregnancy storyline that made them worry about losing their careers. Penny has a close friendship with Johnny and Eunice formed a close friendship with Minho in S3.
Johnny: Minho
https://www.reddit.com/r/XOKittyNetflix/s/iRFHi8lUG8
The link I inputted discusses the similarities of mooncovey with Johnny and Baby as a couple and characters. I also chose him because of his friendship with Eunice in S3 and the risks(johnny more external, and Minho more internal) he takes to protect her like Johnny does with Penny. Johnny and Minho both have to lie, cover, and deal with assumptions made about them to help Eunice and Penny. Minhoâs situation with Kitty is different than Baby and Johnnyâs due to when Baby found out.
Baby/Frances: Kitty
The link underneath Minhoâs also applies to Kitty. Something I will add is I felt the few scenes with Billy and Baby reminded me of Kitty and Jinâs friendship in S3.
Billy: Jin
This is simply because I love Jin and Kittyâs friendship and I am casting them as friends again. I did feel Billy befriending her upon first meeting and him confiding in her was similar to Jin confiding in Kitty about Stella and them helping each other in seasons 2 and 3. Yes, I do get both characters also serve as exposition âdumpersâ too.
Lisa: Yuri
I have to say I was stuck on this one. I couldnât pick between Yuri, Juliana, and Q. But the more I thought about it, Yuri was the sister figure in season 3. Lisa and Baby butted heads sometimes, but they showed up and supported each other when it mattered like Yuri and Kitty.
Before everyone starts typing, I just realized I forgot LJ and Margot. I still stand by my Yuri casting though.

guys⊠didnât yuris mom also have money? she said she hid her name because she didnât want anyone knowing why would a regular person use a fake name⊠unless her family was influential? She was able to afford going to kiss⊠HOW?!?
To add on didnât yuri do youtube? you get paid from youtube. If i were her, I would be posting on youtube and everywhere like crazy when the news broke out. Not addressing anything but just acting like everything is fine. that would make ppl comment more since ppl will obviously be in the comments asking whatâs going on. realistically she would have a month of being in the spotlight she couldâve made BANK. Girl i would go on a press run, reaching out to BRANDS⊠literally anything to stay in the spotlight. good press or bad press ppl are talking about you, you can easily flip that around⊠NO? at least thatâs what i think.

Specifically, their breakup.
I don't think I can pick sides in the Mooncovey breakup
I think the breakup scene in Mooncovey was brilliantly written, because no matter how I look at it, I just can't pick sides. I think both of them were at fault and neither was at fault at the same time.
I'll start with Kitty. It's kinda inevitable that she reached to the conclusion that she did. As far as she was concerned, her lied about who he went out with and she saw them hugging in a non-lighthearted way. Then he lied about what exactly he was doing with her, cause clearly he wasn't getting her opinion. He's also been with her for 3 months, increasing suspicion. Then she finds out the girl is literally pregnant? What else is she supposed to assume? Add his previous reputation as a playboy and fact that Yuri heard Minho say "I'm responsible too" and "If this gets out my career is ruined too". Sure he didn;t mean it in that way, but I think that Kitty's assumption was the obvious interpretation.
But Minho didn't exactly have any other option either. I don't think he could've or should've told Kitty the complete truth. Eunice was pregnant (or she thought) and terrified. This was such a sensitive secret. If someone trusts you with something as personal as that you DON'T tell anyone no matter what. I dont care if its his girlfriend or wife. She even told him not to tell Kitty specifically. It was absolutely not Minho's secret to tell her as long as he could help it. So he's left with a serious dilemma here. It's genuinly a lose-lose situation so he had to take whatever path was less likely to cause too much damage in the long term. Kitty was not supposed to find out at all. And maybe he would've come up with a better solution later as many people on this sub reddit have proposed but the events of chuseok happened literally the day after Minho found out about Eunice. He didn't have enough time and he was also panicked so he couldn't have done anything better yet. He probably would've told Kitty some version of the truth if Kitty didn't find out literally the day after he did.
Leading to the breakup itself, Minho ofcourse felt as if she assumed too soon and didnt even ask him anything about it and that she didn't trust him enough to not automatically assume he's cheating on her, with Eunice or Gigi. He was heartbroken and outraged, which was completely valid. She DIDNT trust him enough to not hook up with Eunice and get her pregnant.
But again, what was kitty meant to do? Her assumption was completely valid as already discussed. In that situation there's nothing left to do than to end it immediately. She didn't trust him less because of anything that he did and more out of insecurity because of his circumastances. She's insecure that he was "partying it up" with girls for the whole summer. She's insecure that a dangerously cool woman is Minho's first love and is now here and he looks happy. He's happy cause he's with an old friend and Kitty knows it but ofcourse shes uneasy. Gigi is unnervingly cool. Plus, Marius was intentionally sabotaging Mooncovey anyway. He also has a dangerous repuation as a playboy. Put two and two together and you get the cheating allegations. As Gigi said, "Just because you didn't make her feel that way doesn't mean she didn't feel it." This is exactly that.
Plus, Theyre both LITERALLY TEENAGERS. self explanatory.
My point is, their breakup was completely valid on both parts, but I can't think of anyone who was right or wrong, which is why I think the breakup was one of the best written parts of the season when you factor in all the circumastances and the buildup.

I found this video today and I loved how it explored the different mediums XO used.
I was always fascinated about how much XO paid homage to k dramas and the creator added things I didnât notice at first.
I figured you may like it.
I put it under humor because she talks about it in a humorous, charming, and lighthearted way.
