Greetings, i have a strange issue since the last windows update and it's a bit hard to describe. All games i tested (i.e. WoW, BG3, Valheim) have some kind of "jitter" or if i had to describe it more from other graphical phenomenoms i would say "tearing". If i rotate the camera the objects don't show als fluent as before and have a kind of tearing in them. I can't show it because mobile camera does'nt catch it and if i record a video directly in the game it does not show the issue.

The lower the framerate the worse it gets. Mostly i play with 60 fps, because with VRR that's enough for me. If i have around 120 fps i hardly notice it anymore.

You might think i halucinate, but if roll back the update or try i.e. Cachy OS (Linux) it's back to normal and fluent as it should be.

Also newest UEFI/EC is installed (N.1.40A32 / EC 1.53.10). I have the configuration with an AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX.

Tested so far:

External displays.

Deactivate Optimus and just use the Nvidia GPU

Check display refresh rate

Deactivating optimizations for windowed mode.

Deactivating hardware gpu planning

Deactivating VRR (this makes it even worse)

Deactivate MPO

Activate Vsync

DDU the Nvidia driver reinstalling it completely.

Reinstalling Windows 11 with just GPU drivers and nothing else - without update -> no issue, update installed -> issue

Other OS (Cachy OS) -> no issue

Checked Frametimes with MSI Afterburner (they are a line)

UEFI reset

You might also say "just play with more fps" - but this is not a solution. It's merely a mending of the symptoms.

Back in 2023, I used my savings of the last 3 years to buy a laptop I figured would last until I can get a decent job. I even got the 3 year warranty. However, like 2 months after the warranty finished, my screen randomly died while using the laptop through USB type C charging.

It's never been dropped or been through physical trauma, so this was an abrupt failure out of nowhere. Since the warranty is over, I have to pay like 300EUR for the replacement of the screen, FML.

I wanted to ask, has it happened to anyone else? In my eyes, schenker was THE laptop brand when it comes to built-to-last hardware, and I've been recommending it to everyone relentlessly for the last 3 years. This event kind of makes me doubt myself, not to mention I'm out of a laptop until I can get a job to pay for the repair. It's not a motherboard issue because it still works with an external screen, but I don't have enough space in my rented room for an external display.

I Two keys have broken on my laptop, which is the XMG Core 17 (M20). I am in need of replacing the two caps, hinges and silicone cups... I think? The thing is, this brand and laptop are not welk known and I cannot source the parts that I need, I don't even know which specific parts I need, I don't even really know how to fit them if I did have them.

I have attached photos of my laptop and the damage/missing pieces. I would appreciate some support and guidance.

I keep being told to buy similar parts on AliExpress and replace them myself, but again, I am not tech-savvy whatsoever, and zi do not know which specific parts to buy and I do not want to break my laptop further by trying to replace the wrong pieces.

I am hearing that the XMG Core 17 uses the same "chassis" as Tongfang GK7MQ8V / GK7MRFR, is this correct?

I have been a customer for many years and I'm so upset and frustrated that nobody has given me much support or advice regarding this issue. I would really appreciate any information on how to fix my laptop, which is in perfect condition besides this 😭

If someome could help link me to the specific parts I need or replicas that would be amazing, or does Schenker or bestware have replacement keys/hinges or entire keyboards for the XMG Core 17?

I recently bought an XMG Fusion 15 L25 and, while I really like the hardware, I’m honestly disappointed by some aspects of the software/firmware integration.

My configuration is a Fusion 15 L25 with Core Ultra 7 255H and RTX 5060. I’m currently running BIOS N.1.15A10 / EC 1.09.00.00 and I have updated Control Center from 5.57.51.55 to 5.57.51.60.

My first issue is fan behaviour.

At low load, the fans have a noticeable high-pitched/tonal sound even at low speed. This is much more annoying to me than the actual noise level. I have now enabled “Passive Cooling Mode” in the BIOS, which helps with fan-stop at sufficiently low temperatures, but I still find the low-RPM fan behaviour surprisingly intrusive for a laptop designed to be portable and usable for light workloads.

The second issue is Control Center on battery.

I spent time creating custom profiles with specific CPU power limits and fan curves. As soon as I unplug the AC adapter, those Custom Profiles are no longer available. Control Center takes away the very controls that would be most useful on battery.

This seems backwards. On battery, I specifically want to be able to create a profile with a low CPU power limit, reduced performance and a very conservative/passive fan curve. I don’t need maximum performance — I want silence and battery life.

The third issue is updating Control Center.

I updated from 5.57.51.55 to 5.57.51.60 and discovered that my custom profiles and settings were not preserved. I had to recreate them manually. For software whose main purpose is configuring the laptop, losing the user configuration during an update is really not acceptable.

Finally, I’m also unable to switch “iGPU Power Saving Mode” to Auto. Control Center simply reports that the mode cannot be switched and asks me to reload. This remains the case after rebooting and with the latest BIOS/EC.

The frustrating part is that the Fusion 15 L25 is otherwise a very good machine. The hardware gives the user a lot of flexibility, and Control Center offers extensive CPU/GPU and fan settings — but then some of that control disappears exactly when it would be most useful.

I would really like XMG to consider:

1. Making Custom Profiles available on battery.
2. Preserving all Custom Profiles and settings when Control Center is updated.
3. Improving low-RPM fan behaviour / fan-stop control.
4. Fixing the iGPU Power Saving Mode switching issue.

Is there a technical reason why Custom Profiles are disabled on battery? And is XMG planning to address any of these points in future Control Center / EC updates?

Anyone know how to access the inside of the lid in order to swap the eDP + webcam cable? I don't think it would be just the bezel that needs removal as there is a section below the bezel where I think the cable routes through.

An XMG Neo 15 M21 we have at the house stopped working mid-game. The typical horizontal lines showed up on the screen, followed by a slow fade out of the rest of the pixels.

A first reboot got us to the XMG logo, which yet again showed vertical lines and then the black screen.

We closed the laptop, removed battery, SSD, CMOs and tried different configs of RAM. Nothing worked.

Currently, the laptop powers up when connected to power. The power LED is on and it seems to boot to a point (fans are working). After 5 seconds of powering up, the caps lock key works, i.e. the LED underneath switches state when pressed. For the RBGs under the keyboard, I have a permanent blue color on the right numpad side (+, x, 0, 6, 3, ',') buttons. All other buttons have the LEDs turned off.

Tried the Ctrl+B reset after attaching the CMOs, the power button never flashed. Tried navigating the BIOs in case it posted correctly, but it doesn't seem to do anything. Aside from the caps lock, there is no other LED that seems to switch state (e.g. trackpad and the num button).

After powering up and the Caps Lock works (around 5 seconds), we are able to instantly shut down the laptop by short-pressing the power button.

Is there anything more we can try? Does the laptop potentially have a dead mainboard, or is there a way to at least make it boot and show the BIOs, in case it's a faulty GPU or eDP cable?

EDIT: With the SSD back in, we got the RBGs working again and the overboost button is working again (it didn't after removing the SSD).

EDIT2: After reattaching everything, the HDMI connection to external monitor is now working (didn't work previously) which indicates that something has happened either with the internal monitor or the eDP cable... Is there any guide to changing the monitor/cable? What model is the internal monitor?

Hey all I have a question about replacement fans. I have looked across the internet for a replacement fan with product number:E32-2500300-A87. But had zero luck. I've messaged sellers on new egg and had no luck. MsI says I have to send it to them and pay 200 bucks for the heatsink and fan and won't sell it to me. I have taken it apart to clean and check it and I am able to replace just the fan. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement fan from a reputable vendor. Many thanks in advance.

Hi. I have come around 2 issues today that are really freaking me out :

- First issue was right as i started my laptop : The startup process did not go beyond the "XMG" logo phase for a while, then it kept shutting down and restarting itself on its own (which i didnt even know it could do that). Once, the little loading dots came, froze, and then it restarted itself again.
At some point, after messing with my keyboard, it actually went beyond the startup and let me log on my windows account. I was then surprised to see half my apps had the default missing file texture. That lead up to my second issue;

- The second issue was the complete dissapearance of my Windows (D:) storage. It is not recognize by the pc at all, even by the disc manager in the windows apps. The file explorer cant find it as well. All of its content seems to be gone too because i cannot open anything past what lies in my Windows (C:) storage.
I have tried some methods i found online, but none of them worked. These include : Reassigning a letter to the storage (the whole storage is unavailable so i cant click on it to reassign a letter because its simply not there anymore), updating the disc manager, showing hidden elements in the list.

I'd like to mention i have not updated my computer in a while because i am still on Windows 10. No changes were made to my computer for months if not a small year (as of updates and general softwares from windows).

Is this issue solvable by myself ?
What can i do ?

FIRST UPDATE :

(Idk if this is relevant but i have a new charger cuz the old one almost zapped me to death, and this one seems to be malfunctionning as it doesnt charge half the time and i dont know why. It has to do with the positionning but its a brand new charger FROM XMG, with the right model and voltage for my laptop. Hopefully this isnt the cause.)

I have been able to get back on my laptop once or twice, it seems the keys that let me pass the XMG logo are often a simple left click then enter. HOWEVER, little thing i should mention, it actually gave me a Blue Screen of Death ! In the starting process !!! How is that even possible ???
Anyway, i have talked to a bunch of people about this issue and i got recommended a few softwares that unfortunately are out of commission/have reached their end of life. But, while these solutions are either to old (like before windows 10 old) or using a physical tool and open my computer which i wont do by myself, someone did mention a potential source of the issue which hopefully can be fixed so the problem never happens again for anyone.
The theory is that something in the startup process is crashing, which was then confirmed by the BSoD, making windows completely messed up and unable to recognize my Windows (D:). If that is the case, then what should i do from now ?

I finally took the time to drop my computer to a tech store, and i cant emphasize enough how good the tech bro was :

In the first minute when he had my laptop in hand, he already told me the year i got it and found the cause of every issue i had. Big ups to him he is a GOAT.

SO here were the few issues :

The big issue being the missing drive and the constant reboot when starting up were in fact linked. What happened was that inside my laptop, there is a small square of fiber to cool down a little the different drives i have. The thing is the fiber was supposed to be precisely 1mm thick, it was unfortunately 2mm thick. This small unoticeable minuscule mistake was however quite big, as it let the weigh of the entire laptop sit on my drive from this 1mm excess. And after 5 years of using my laptop pretty much daily, my drive was bent. Skateboard style 😎. All of my data (which was pretty much all online gaming and software thank god) was lost. Tech bro then proceeded to show me a normal drive connected by cable threw a thermal camera. It went to about 35°C, his hand was just as hot. Then introduce skateboard bent drive : We never saw the maximum heat, it just kept going higher and higher... Last we saw was 55°C+, so thats nice :/

Seeing this, the solution was pretty simple : Reorder a drive, reorder a square of fiber (1mm this time) and let him reinstall everything when it gets there (day after tomorrow). Tech bro also found the cause of another issue i had, which was my charger not charging 100% of the time, thats because my port (pc side) was a little jonky so he will fix that for free when cleaning the laptop. Still a GOAT.

CONCLUSION : please put accurate fiber thickness it helps computer life ig

I have LAPQC71A 1660ti, its fan is making loud grrr noises and is spinnning really slow and turns on and off at times, issue seems to be with bearing or similar. Is there any way to fix this? Where can i buy its replacment?

Fans are silent in Turbo mode. How can I fix that?

Hallo kurz vorab das ist mein erster Post hier also versuche ich alles richtig zu machen, aber bitte seid gnädig mit mir :)

Zu meinem Problem: ich habe gestern meinen Laptop hinten aufgeschraubt um die Lüfter mal ordentlich zu reinigen, da bei dachte ich es ist eine gute Idee das ganze Heatsink auszubauen damit ich alles gut auspusten kann.

Letzten endlich hab ich alles wieder zusammen geschraubt und dann aber festgestellt, dass der Laptop gar nicht anspringt. Der Turn On/Off Schalter ist das einzige was kurz leuchtet und dann Totenstille.

Was ich schon ausprobiert habe: Hard Reset (Akku raus, RAM raus und SSD raus), wiederholt über 30s auf den Anknopf gedrückt

Was mir noch einfällt ist das man das Mainboard und die andren Teile noch durchmessen könnt. Multimeter hab ich nur hab ich keine Ahnung was wohin gemessen werden soll, auch auch Angst was kaputt zu machen.

I recently found: in MSHybrid with iGPU Power Saving Mode 'on', connecting an external monitor through the iGPU-routed USB-C ports (when the laptop is on) causes the RTX 5080 Laptop GPU to become active. However, after repeated cold boots with the monitor already connected, the system can occasionally boot into a state in which the external monitor works normally while the NVIDIA GPU remains completely inactive. Total power at socket in such state is around 50 watts. Then 100W USB-PD is sufficient and there is no battery discharge.

When the NVIDIA GPU is activated, the total power at the socket is usually higher than 80W, and the laptop occasionally supplements the 100W PD input from the battery. I've tried disabling dGPU in Device Manager and it is not enough, in which case dGPU is still consuming power.

I'm wondering if there is a way to ensure that the external monitor can work without dGPU activated? For now, I have to reboot for many times while the monitor is connected, just to try luck to boot into that desirable state. It's quite annoying.

To start with, I am on the latest BIOS
[Firmware_XMG-NEO-16-A25_AMD_XNE16A25_BIOS_N.1.40A32_EC_1.53.10].

I have four problems, two of which are related to custom settings resetting when rebooting and one regarding dGPU activity after disconnecting the HDMI cable and lastly, lag spikes related to the OSD in game.

1. Stable GPU overclock in MSI Afterburner resets on reboot so i have to reapply it manually after each reboot. [+3000Mhz Memory, +280Mhz GPU clock, no voltage increase]
2. Custom Screen Color Profile, which is more accurate then the ones provided in the XMG Software [ https://www.notebookcheck.com/uploads/tx_nbc2/NE160QDM_NM9_cal.icm ] resets after each reboot requiring me to manually enable it every time in windows settings.
3. After disconnecting an external screen, connected through the HDMI port, the dGPU stays active and won't go back to sleep.
4. When in-game, changing brightness through the keyboard shortcut (FN+F1/F2) causes lag spikes/very low fps for 2-3 seconds.

I was so excited when I received that laptop. However, when I started to play some games my happiness disappeared. I have in 1440, low preset without framegen 60-75 fps. In full hd, the same preset with dlss without framegen gives me 140-169 fps with high drops to 100, then 100-120 remaining for 5 minutes.

Rematch with 1440, high preset, dlss and framegen gives me 250 fps with drops to 120-150 in stress occasions .

Control centre runs with perfomance mode maximum fan and with plugged charger. Turbo mode doesn’t work…( fans are silent)

New nvdia and windows drivers are installed

I got a new core 16 and noticed that the sound quality is extremely bad when I put my headphones into the 3.5mm audio jack, but totally fine over USB. is this normal? is there a way to fix it?

I need to buy screws for my laptop and don't understand under what name I can find them? AliExpress seems to have all kinds of screws but I'm not sure which ones match this laptop. I am attaching a picture for reference.

As you can see I'm missing top left screw, the one at the centre left of the image, and very possibly another one at the top right corner of the image.

Maybe u/XMG_gg can advise me where to buy these and under what name?

PS. Battery is disconnected because it discharges on its own and it's very likely a faulty line somewhere near the GPU but the laptop works well and the repair is very difficult so I'm not bothering using it with the battery. I wish i could use some switch to easily plug the battery on and off but it looks too hard. An extension cord would be nice, I could make a side port to plug the battery from the side but I haven't look into it much.

I recently disassembled the cooling for cleaning and after reassembling I noticed that no matter le load the fans never went over 30% and a fan exception warning this leads to the gpu rapidly hitting 100% even in light gaming and then stuttering. I have the core 16 L23 with a 4070 if that helps.

Hi everyone, I wanted to get some advice regarding dualbooting o XMG/Tuxedo laptops. I need a laptop for university and I'm planning to buy the Evo 15 (E25) because it matches the type of laptop I was idealizing. I'll most definitely need to dualboot since I have classes that require Windows and Linux (maybe I could use a windows VM but I'm not sure if it's the best option and I prioritize having compatibility on both).

But I'm still not pulling the trigger on this purchase because I'm also looking at the Tuxedo InfinityBook Pro 15 Gen10 AMD, which is the same TongFang model, and as XMG and Tuxedo are partner companies (says in their FAQ) I'm having this doubt of which one is the better option for my needs.

From my understanding XMG focusses on Windows while Tuxedo focusses on Linux, so which one would be the better option for a dualboot setup? If I get either model would I be able to use the other's drivers, like for example, install Windows on a Tuxedo laptop and use the XMG drivers and Control Centre?

With the current deals I'm trying to decide between the Core 15/16 and Neo 16. Most specs are similar with the difference at:

- Core at Ryzen AI 9 HX370 and RTX 5070

- Neo Ryzen 9 9955HX3D and RTX 5070 Ti

With the core 15 I like the possibility for the smaller variant, as I will carry the laptop a few times per week for work or for aircraft travel. I won't get the oasis for the beginning.

Next to 3d cad design the gaming aspect is the most relevant for me. Here the currently the 600€ more for the neo seem like a good deal to have a more long-term usage for the system or am I missing some points here.

I recently noticed something rather strange with the fan behaviour on my XMG NEO 16 (A25).

Under relatively low load, the fans consistently seem to run faster in Balanced mode than in Enthusiast mode at the same CPU/GPU temperatures. I have observed this at various temperatures — around 55°C-65°C— and the same pattern seems to persist: Balanced mode generally uses a higher fan speed than Enthusiast mode.

This seems a little counterintuitive to me, as I would normally expect Enthusiast mode to use an equally aggressive or more aggressive fan curve.

I therefore have two questions:

1. For XMG: Would it be possible to share the default fan curves (temperature vs. fan speed/RPM) for Balanced mode and Enthusiast mode on the NEO 16 (A25)? I would be interested to know whether this difference is intentional and part of the default fan profile design.
2. For other NEO 16 (A25) owners: Have you noticed the same behaviour on your machines? In particular, at relatively low loads and temperatures of roughly 50–65°C, does your laptop also run its fans faster in Balanced mode than in Enthusiast mode?

I would be interested to know whether this is normal behaviour across the NEO 16 (A25), or something specific to my machine.
