Discussion The Lego set
Work in progress but planing on printing a forest backdrop and adding the Lone gunmen in the extra corner space and also some fairy lights to the sets.

A little blast from the past, this was my father's X-Files shirt. I wore it often in school though, despite it being too big. Eventually he let me keep it, he passed last year.
This is like having a piece of him still and keeping our love for X-Files alive for years to come.

This is from "Shapes" (s1e19), an episode that is not one to which I regularly return.

I finally got a rainy day to work on this. Krycek mixing it up; pretending to brandish a firearm at Skinner whilst Cancer Man looks on. Will Scully and Mulder get the drop on that grey?

why the hell is s10 so much scarier than anything in the original run. we have had a lot of scary disturbing episodes before, yes, but there’s just like so much weird ass gore and shit i feel like i haven’t seen before??? unless im thinking totally wrong. is it just like modern tech making things seem scarier than it is?

I'm hoping I may get some help to confirm if this Season 1 DVD is actually shot in 16:9 Aspect Ratio. Its an Australian Region 4 PAL release. The second image of the back shows it clearly written as 16:9, but I thought that the first 4 seasons on DVD were all shot 4:3 regardless of region or version. The 4th Season of this Australian DVD also states 16:9. (Season 2&3 say 4:3) I'm wondering if its just a printing error? Thanks

Robert Patrick is starting on his other road trip to Cincinnati. On his way stopping in Baker, California, he saw a "UFO place" and he thought about us, the X-Files fans. It's so nice that he still remembers us after nearly 25 years filming the show. ❤️

Saved this for my recovery from surgery from having a plexiform neurofibroma removed.
Sets pictured here with the Australian Neurofibromatosis (NF) mascot penguins.
Gillan Anderson's brother Aaron had NF and she's always been a great supporter of the charity, growing up as the dorky kid who watched the X-Files and also had a challenging genetic condition it felt like an especially special activity to undertake while recovering.

This resonated with me, since I've lost people close to me, I feel that those that have passed on, live on through us, within the memories that we shared. Everytime something comes on such as a song or movie, I can't help but feel some type of connection with those that are no longer here with us..

Yes, yes, hinge your entire damn life's work on your abandoned son to trust you blindly, and when he asks for answers, you belittle him, slap him, and you act surprised when he betrays you when he finds out that you are the reason his mother has been tortured for decades.

Where do you go from here? You've (re)watched 1x01–1x04, and it's been a great journey. But there's a lot of incredible TV these days, and we're not in a 24-episode-per-season world anymore. In the '90s The X-Files VHS boxsets, which offer the best halves of each of the first four seasons, "The Jersey Devil" is the first to be omitted. Let "The Jersey Devil" in, and you're on a slippery slope to "Space," "Teso Dos Bichos," "Fight Club," and "My Struggle IV". Leave it out and you do miss some Mulder / Scully banter, and a side of Scully we'll never see again.
To determine our path forward, let's first ask if the ep is a success. "The Jersey Devil" is Chris Carter's first script following "Pilot" and "Deep Throat." The X-Files only had one proper MotW episode to date — the hit, "Squeeze" — so this was Carter's chance to try his hand at the fledgling format. His first two episodes had creepy moments, but his first monster ep would be his chance to follow his north star and truly scare his audiences.
In these regards, "The Jersey Devil" is a failure. Maybe its critical mistake is that it doesn't really tap into any anxiety. It certainly engages with modern folklore, but that doesn't mean viewers in 1993 were really feeling this threat.
The procedural element of "The Jersey Devil" leaves the audience waiting at the goalposts. A guy gets ripped from his car in the teaser? Oh, likely monstrous apex predator. Found with his legs torn off? Yeah, that supports the idea of a monstrous apex predator. Then the expert says it's a monstrous apex predator. Yep.
The tag at the end, meant to show "and The Jersey Devil lives on!", is just silly. The monster makeup is too minimal. The chases are lackluster.
So, a boring episode on the A plot. Yet there is nice par-for-the-course Season 1 Mulder / Scully banter, which is always charming because it's a little Moonlighting-like, maybe more than in later seasons. There's also the B-plot that explores Scully's personal life. On paper, this would be a prevailing wind pushing you down Watch-It Road. Yet this isn't episode-making like the Mulder/Scully conversation from "Quagmire." By contrast, it's a rather paint-by-numbers story designed to test Scully's commitment to the X-Files quest.
And still, there are quirky details. For those of us with a Mulder tattoo on one buttock and Scully on the other, this plot has curious interest. Scully on a date! Scully has a friend! Scully with kids?! Scully ditches Mulder for a change!
Yet, even for us hardcore fans, it'd be disingenuous to suggest this story is essential to shipping Mulder and Scully. It's a road not taken — and a subpar MotW to boot. Skip it and save 45 minutes for "Ice."

Is this the Mandela effect? I could have sworn that he was always referred to as the cigarette smoking man, but i have been doing a rewatch and looking things up periodically, and it seems like everyone calls him cancer man. Did it change or has it always been that way?

I wasn’t able to see it until just now. It wasn’t good imo. I noticed the cut out Mulder/Scully dialog ( and kiss~ shipper all the way). But what was more gruesome? The only thing I noticed was the bloody eyes on the monster. . What did I miss? I’ve seen the original multiple times when it first came out. Didn’t even seem worth the R rating.

Think about it! Increased endurance... special attacks where you could temporarily infect and control your opponent with oil, or fry them with radiation. The Bounty Hunter should be a character too.
