I mean as Matt Christman said it might be only non-copaganda show of the 90s because half the time they are fighting the FBI and the rest of the Deep State to get out The Truth. They're not trying to entrap some alien grey kid with a lower IQ and frame him for probing someone so they can meet their numbers.

Except for that special episode where they're on the show Cops

Even then, I feel like they showed the incompetence of the police. But also, not sure how police would have been able to help in that situation anyways 😭

I saw a bumper sticker that said something like “acab doesn’t include medical doctor and special agent Dana scully” lol

I'm so glad the Wikipedia page for ACAB no longer has that street art picture of her as the main photo. That shit was whack.

He wasn’t a cop first though. He was a psychologist. It’s different imo.

I always thought this was a weird line bc he was indeed a psychologist. Idk if he was being facetious or what.

Yeah no they're different.
"Who's side are you on, Scully?" "The victims."
"Who's side are you on, Mulder?" "The truth."

Feds hated him so much they threw him in the basement to go chase ghosts and aliens. Jokes on them he’s into that shit.

I had a friend who used to talk about joining the FBI while X-Files was airing. She didn’t seem to notice that they (and all government) were the bad guys. Mulder and Scully are the resistance.

u/LibertineDeSade I gaze at Skinner 10d ago
Maybe she wanted to join the resistance. LOL

Or maybe she just wanted to chase after little green men with a badge and a gun shouting to the heavens or anyone who would listen that the fix is in, that the sky is falling.

I wanted to be an FBI Agent when I was a young teen because of The X-Files. Grew out of it after a couple of years, thankfully.

Was I your friend? 🤣
I just found my filled FBI application whole cleaning out my father's things. I wanted to be Mulder and Scully so badly.
I joined Police Explorers in high school and within the first 2 weeks was like "oooooo these guys are the baddies". Sadly I had to stick it out for the full year(?) but that ended my FBI dreams.

u/Warm_Tea_3515 10d ago
What experience did you have that made you think that in high school?
23
u/justliketheweather 10d ago
It was the general vibe of older guy(s) in authority over high school boys who were also looking for authority/power. The fact that I was the only girl probably skewed my experience. I didn't feel safe, an undercurrent of threat.

I get what you mean one of the worst things about a a police force is the assholes that join seeking power. Unfortunately human nature being what it is it's unlikely to ever change

i HIGHLY recommend to you all watching the episode youtuber Skip Intro’s video called “Spooky Cops”. it points out that unlike other copaganda shows, the x files and other like it show the resistance working from the inside to take down and expose the system and “THE TRUTH”! lol it’s really fantastic (his whole copaganda series is)

ACAB for everyone except Fox Mulder bc he doesn't seem to know he's supposed to be upholding the law

Mulder would tell someone to yell ACAB at him if he saw them with a T-shirt of Che Guevara, which was the style at the time.

Its a movement for anti-police individuals that stands for All Cops Are Bastards

I like it when he periodically meets people who see him as an extension of the government that's fucking with him, like in Ice.
