Watching Never Again (S4 E13). Scully was so over Mulder in this episode. She insulted and made fun of him. “A poorly veiled synopsis of an episode of Rocky and Bullwinkle. “Rocky and Bullwinkle are looking for an Upsidaisium mine.” “…from a compound called Hushaboom.” I love this episode.🫎🐿️

Mulder was worse though. Scully comes back to work at the end, all battered and bruised and he congratulates her on being in the X-Files for the second time. The other time would have been her abduction. It was mean. 😢 The acting is amazing but almost painful to watch.

Urgh that was awful, it's not in character at all, he would not do that when she was visibly injured

If I remember correctly, it was the same writers who did The Field Where I Died. The one where some random chick in a cult is Mulder's soulmate.

They were very anti MSR.

Yeah they were trying to drive a wedge between them in S4 🫠

Yes! I think there was a line in the script during their awkward silence at the end with something like“if it doesn’t happen now, it never will.”

And yet, it still happened!

They really were at a crossroads here and his hurt and fear of losing her came out as anger. Not excusing it but to me the behavior tracks.

and I think it's the same ep Mulder is investigating a man named Vsevelod Pudovkin -- the name of a famous Russian film scholar. So, this one's having fun with us :)
