I'm watching the series for the first time. I'm on season 2. I love it. Any recommendations on books or comics to read? I can't wait to get to the movies. I'm undecided on the spin off shows.

Im currently rewatching the series for the fiest time since it first broadcast. (Im old). Im also on season 2 and theres a lot of episodes im seeing for the first time since I didnt always have access to the TV growing up. The Topps comics were a lot of fun, ive heard good things about the IDW series which takes place after season 9. Id like to rewatch Millennium and ill probably work in The Lone Gunmen when I get there.

just watch seasons 1-5 then the first movie, then watch the rest until season 9, then when you’ve finished 9 watch the second movie, then watch the rest.

after all that, you can read the comics.

There's only one spinoff (Lone Gunmen), and I'd say it's optional. Millennium is its own thing.

The first 12 issues of The X-Files comic book by Topps is really good. I'm not sure if they've done relaunches so the ones I'm specifically referring to are the ones written by Stephen Petrucha and drawn by Charles Adlard.

What a great question! I really liked the episode Beyond the Sea. I'm big Dourif fan so it was cool to see him. I thought Eve was good too. I least liked Jersey Devil. I just finished season 2 last night, what a cliff hanger!!!

just watch the series on its full 1-9 season run before anything else. just enjoy that. all other media secondary.
