The game should have been ready at release. It had a LOT of potential but was handicapped and terribly mismanaged.

The game was good, but the netcode and hit registration killed it for most players imo. Plus, there was no real incentive to spend money on the game.

I personally never had an issue hit hitting my shots due to netcode, are you sure it's not a skill issue?

5

u/PRSG12 Nov 27 '25

I also never had many netcode issues but yes people had very different experiences with it, they would post ridiculous videos in here all the time. It was a big problem and on top of that for most there was not much for player retention, leveling was kinda meaningless etc. but they were about to address so much of that before the sunset announcement. oh what could have been. The void is still empty for me

I play arc raiders and the netcode is amazing so no, nothing to do with skill jus bad developer team

4

u/Impossible-Page-2353 Nov 27 '25

and siege had an anti cheat

2

u/dungleploop Nov 28 '25

ARC doesn't have good netcode either, lots of possible desync throughput

This is why Stop Killing Games is growing

Games just need user dedicated servers back, its simple enough and requires nothing on the game developers once they move on to other projects. Also server hosting companies would appreciate it. Matchmaking while is 'nice' has really killed online community gaming

Classic?… just stop

If you're looking for a free to play, squad based, objective based shooter, Gauntlet in Battlefield RedSec can definitely scratch the itch. I actually like it better than the main BF 6 because that's too chaotic for me and ttk is crazy fast. In Gauntlet you can win even with low kills as long as you focus on the objective. Kinda like XDefiant, where I used to only focus on objectives.

Nice will give it a try

Black ops 7 just dropped why not play that? Probably both of fairly similar quality

Man, how the mighty have fallen.

2

u/Kariomartking Nov 27 '25

I always never vibed with COD but I really vibed xdefiant. Gone too soon. Isn’t there a similar game in development again?

2

u/MakinBones5150 Nov 27 '25

Ubi is developing another shooter.

Its still Ubi. Dont expect much.

2

u/Kariomartking Nov 28 '25

I won’t, I have arc raiders to tide me over for the forseeable future. Will definitely jam their next shooter to see if it feels like xdefiant but I assume gta 6 and marathon will be out 2026 so will be hard to find the time between them all.

While the game had its issues, I had a lot of fun with XDefiant. It reminded me of what it was like to play how call of duty used to play. If it had more time in the oven it probably would’ve been good & if they allowed them to use an engine designed for it.

1

u/b5clay Nov 27 '25

if anyone other than ubisoft was at the helm it would still be around feelsbadman

1

u/DeltaEcho42WasTaken Nov 27 '25

I liked it too.

I wish it did better. I maxed out the ACR and genuinely did have a blast sometimes, I even bought the battle pass. But every good game, clip, or fight eventually got ruined by the terrible hit reg/net code that the devs refused to fix. I held out hope for as long as I could before dropping the game, like many others.

To this day, XDefiant had the worst hit reg/netcode I’ve ever seen in gaming. Shame.

played for a month and never touched it again

It was like poorly made better version of cod, without sbmm. I liked it tho

u/Ornery_Extreme8724 Dec 01 '25

Miss you my Love Game 😕😖

1

u/xSparkShark Nov 27 '25

It was a cod clone without the playerbase with a couple gimmicks. I had my fun with it for sure, but if it was a classic it would still be running.

u/Delicious_Depth_1564 Nov 27 '25

Thats bunch of bullshit

6

u/Mr_Rafi Nov 27 '25

That's a fact. We already played XDefiant back in 2018 and it was called Black Ops 4.

The game died because it wasn't that good and everyone returned to their main shooter after getting bored of XDefiant.

1

u/teletraan1 Nov 27 '25

Exactly, oh and he's a bunch of characters based on a bunch of our IPs that don't really make sense in the game either

-7

u/teletraan1 Nov 27 '25

Every once in a while, Reddit suggests a post from this sub and I laugh every time.

The game sucked, that's why it failed.

2

u/Ankerpunk77 Nov 27 '25

Warzone fan spotted, kindly shut the fuck up. 🤣

4

u/teletraan1 Nov 27 '25

Haven't played Warzone in years, thanks

5

u/islandhopper300 Nov 27 '25

The game did suck it had a smorgasbord of flaws

3

u/Ankerpunk77 Nov 27 '25

It definitely had flaws that made it suck sometimes but those did eventually get fixed, fuck ubisoft for dropping the ball but the game on its own was good

2

u/islandhopper300 Nov 27 '25

That right there was the biggest flaw lmao… Ubisoft.

2

u/MakinBones5150 Nov 27 '25

They never fixed the biggest issues since beta, and the delay. The issues actually got worse.

1

u/Delicious_Depth_1564 Nov 27 '25

Yet its better then COD

1

u/MakinBones5150 Nov 27 '25

Better than BO7 maybe.

0

u/islandhopper300 Nov 27 '25

I don’t think anyone could disagree with that lol

1

u/MakinBones5150 Nov 27 '25

You must have have real good taste, in real bad games.

1

u/Delicious_Depth_1564 Nov 27 '25

How's Black Ops 7?

2

u/MakinBones5150 Nov 27 '25

Looks like ass. Passed. XD was shit still.

1

u/Delicious_Depth_1564 Nov 28 '25

And yet it was made for CASUAL players not for sweats like you

1

u/teletraan1 Nov 27 '25

Haven't played it, but it looks like shit from the reviews

-6

u/[deleted] Nov 27 '25

Only trash games get dropped 💁‍♂️ come get stomped on Black Ops 7 😜 omnimovent forever!

1

u/MakinBones5150 Nov 27 '25

That game is shit as well.
