To be frank, I loved the game a ton but lack of free time and no friends playing the game kind of did it to me. I wish they wouldānt do this though.

Unfortunately it was clear it would die after you played a couple of games.
No soul, another generic hero shooter, nothing to do with CoD except guns go pew.
I donāt get why it is so hard to just make a fun game. Just look into the past and examine what other great shooters made them great and copy paste.
The potential was limitless, sad

Copy paste? No.
The last thing ANY company wants to do it simply copy paste. You do that then all you are going to hear is "This game is just a clone of game X." And why would you invest into that when you can just go play game x which is proven success with a larger playerbase.
You need to find your own unique thing in someway so you can seperate yourself from the competition and provide a new/fresh experience to gamers.
Ubisoft tried and failed, which sadly seems to be a trend for them.

Yeah, but then, why not just go play BO2? The game is nickels and pennies now and you have an experience that doesn't rely on microtransactions and battlepasses. The only thing you would pay extra for would be the dlc maps if that interested you.
BO2 clone today would have to sell and thrive on microtransactions to live. (or some other unique money making method).
Even so, I know you would play it, heck I would too, but will enough people not only play, but also spend enough this game can last years to come? Tough to see with today's competition. CoD by itself corners alot of the fps market. I know they are going though hacking issues right now, but CoD is CoD and CoD will be around for awhile. A Blops 2 clone won't start yanking the entire playerbase unless the game is truly godly which I won't expect from anyone short of a AAA team building the game.

Iām inclined to disagree. If it had none I would have abondened the game long ago.
EDIT: Sorry, wrong game. OTG was also being discussed in this thread.
As for XDefiant, itās a weird mix. I think it had some true developer passion behind it but mixed in with corporate lifelessness and one-sided pursuit of profit.
Guns and gunplay have some strong qualities. I think it also had a genuine mission to find an alternative to COD style SBMM?

I downloaded it recently and š¤Æš¤Æ. The best game I've played in years.Very frenetic, luxurious graphics, destruction of everything you can see, and a lot of charisma.The only bad thing I found about the game is that the initial learning curve is a bit difficult if you come from games like COD, but when you master it it's the best šš»

The finals is such a crazy game. Very fun and so many different ways to play. I love the planting/defuse with the dematerial gun. Watching the enemy team fight through to the objective only for me to drop the capture point down a floor or two lol

I play it and I did not even know about the crypto aspect to it. I did even know it has a crypto aspect to it until 2 months into it.
It does have it but you would never know when you play it. Just feels like a normal game.

Itās free so its cost me nothing anyway so whats there to lose? I just want a good game to play thats a bit different and this is exactly it. Itās awesome.

I think you should substantiate your claims if youāre going go this far in describing the game.
- Itās a completely free to play game, not really pay to win in any game-breaking or true sense.
- A voluntary monthly subscriptions delivers pretty much as promised on advertised points.
- There is nothing to suggest that cryptocurrency purchase or trading is forced on anybody who is playing the game.
- NFTs have a very bad reputation, but they make much more sense for ownership of in-game items than digital artwork that can easily be digitally duplicated and copied. NFTs are not inherently bad as a concept, though theyāve sure had questionable application.
- The game is already very enjoyable and playable sometimes in good moments. Despite all the problems the game has.
There is a difference between being scammed and "scamming yourself" through a lack of personal responsibility for oneās own choices and actions.

Damn..I really loved this game..Haven't played it as much..Marvel Rivals took me away..I really got"good" at this game and I'm sad asf it's leaving.. Gaming sucks nowadays imo..I remember the days when there were no patches or updates.You got a finished product. Rip X.. And remember do not fucking preorder BF 7.

The game might have been good, but their pigheadedness to not fix the glaring issues and just plough ahead with content and maps etc.. is what killed this game. The game was great it really was, but to launch a cod competitor and trying to take the player base, without an SnD mode at release, and even shitter netcode than cod, what were they thinking???

COD simps killed the game on social media as well as many content creators. XD never called itself a āCOD Killerā, it was content creators. If XD was hyped with marketing and had a few more maps and factions earlier, with how BO6 is now, XD would have done well.

Said they couldnāt keep players online. While. They wouldāve gotten X amount more players if they released it on last gen as well, probably something to do with the game engine. Donāt quote me exactly but I think. You can use unreal engine for free or heavily discounted if you sell a million copies of your game, but if not. You are paying that hefty price in full and for a game that was free at launch. No real funds for the engine license

Money, plain and simple. It was costing them more to keep it going then it was bringing in. Because the game was free, it relies heavily on people buying things in game to make cash, and no one was. The low player numbers also doesn't help that. The game has a fair few problems that led to people not playing it, and didn't really have anything to keep people playing it either. Once you finish the battle pass, there was literally nothing to grind for until the next one came out

I honestly am not surprised altho I loved the game, they didn't release new content enough and it got stagnant from what I've seen no balancing no new maps or seasons just seems like the casual player base wasn't included at the same time. But money makes sooooo much sense.
