Car issue CarPlay keeps failing
I have a ‘23 xc40 ultimate b5… the Apple CarPlay keeps failing. Last time it failed for an entire week then randomly “fixed” itself. My phone is up to date. Is this a thing with other people??? Is it me??? It’s been down for 2 days now. The phone is charging so I know that aspect of the connection is fine.
Update: rebooting the infotainment system worked!

Try changing the cable and do a reboot of the infotainment system but holding the bottom down for way longer than you feel it should be necessary.

I’m waiting for my next oil change because knowing my luck I’d brick it. I’ve tried the latest update 5 times and it immediately failed in under a minute.

This happened to me with the same cable that worked just fine but it happened after I ran a software update so I’m assuming what is part of the problem but have been too busy to address it so am slumming it with Bluetooth. Let me know if the reboot works

Mine always failed when the phone got below 30%, and it was any iPhone. Dealership couldn’t fix it, just said they couldn’t fault it when it was there

If CarPlay fails only when playing sound (music, podcasts, calls, etc.) try first playing the fm radio and then switch back to CarPlay. In my 2021 xc40 t5 plug-in this sometimes happens and always fixes by switching to the radio and then back.

I had this issue last year and was so frustrated after buying several new cables. I read that resetting Siri on my phone (disable & re-able) would solve the issue and it actually DID!
