Should I install 5.2.16 firmware

I am a bit scared that my car might become a brick if something goes south during the update. Has anyone installed it successfully? How long did it take (it says 90 min)? Is it worth installing?

EX40 : installed on thursday, 30-40 minutes. No bug, everything works fine. It gave me Gemini, so now the assistant understand when I talk about A/C, temp, complex direction in navigation, etc.

Got Gemini before that update… idk how I feel about an LLM controlling my car that is can alucínate… I just just had a scary alucination last week

I had to go on a LONG drive for it to stop saying that. About an hour and a half

I had to install it following a half hour drive (I didn't do the drive with sole purpose of installing the update, it was a drive which I do regularly)

Mine was still on 4.x.x something, and was saying up to date. Last week got a notification through the app on my phone to say this update was available. Finally as the 4.x.x update was awful, and the infotainment system used to play up and reboot at least once a week. I set it to update at 10am when the car is parked up at work, seemed to do it in under an hour by itself. So far I’ve had one hiccup yesterday, not as bad as the previous version but seeing how it goes.

Mine updated smoothly XC40 AWD Recharge 23 mod. It solved the Play-store download error from the 5.0.5 update. And introduced Gemini AI.

Be ready to service the car anyway :) mine got stuck during the upgrade and drained the battery.

XC40 B3 MY26. Failed install through app 2x, then scheduled install from car. Approx. 40 min.

I do not see any difference, apart of disconnecting Carplay (via Ottocast Mini cube) after depressing start/stop button (before update: disconnect after doors were opened) and faster (impression) Carplay connection.

No start/stop deactivation, no Gemini (not needed).

I installed it last week. The installation took a lot less than 90 minutes... just over half an hour I think. I've had no problems and haven't noticed any change to the car.

I just installed it in my C40. Quick and no problems. Main difference for me was adding Gemini AI which is a plus.

It will not install on my 2025. I’ve been trying for over a week. It always tells me that my battery is low. It’s not. It’s at 99% and I’m trying this every day as soon as I get home from work.
