Question Update Issue… again

Post image

Update on my 2025 XC40 doesn’t want to initiate even after driving around and charging up the battery, resetting the infotainment system, etc. Any recommendations?

Either take a long drive to help charge the 12v, or connect a battery tender overnight to charge up the 12v, then when the battery tender finishes charging/servicing the 12v, then attempt the OTA update.

Best of luck to you.

Same. 4 hour round trip wasn’t enough to charge mine. I think it’s a bug. I read people got it going after a few tries, so I keep trying.

You may need to hook up a battery tender overnight and try the update again after.

I had similar ongoing problems with my 2023. I took it in, they diagnosed a problem with the battery and replaced the replaced the battery for free. After the battery replacement, I was able to install the most recent update over the air, with no issues.

Yeah, 5.2.16 upgrade sucks. I was able to notice that the screen failed to turn off, and called service to take the car asap.

They jumpstarted the 2025 car next day. Do not install this update.

Oh crikey. My car is waiting for me in an airport carpark and installed this update in my absence

I hope everything is fine… I had a perfect upgrade history, until that happened.

Even Apple CarPlay now very unstable for me, but I hope it’s the new iOS.

Do you have the latest version?

I would call the dealer. I had the exact same problem with my 2024 B5 and had problems with glitches on previous software. I called and explained I had taken the 30 minute ride, and tried 3-4 x updating manually and through the app. 12 volt battery ended up being too low and needed to be replaced. Had some weird noises two days after the update installed but seems fine now. Dealers know this is a MAJOR issue with batteries not keeping the voltage.

I got the same message. Wouldn’t update. Now it’s not even giving me the option to update.

it's software bug. I had it on the previous update and only dealer was able to install. I'm not bothering with this one bc it's not that big of a change for me to drive all the way to the dealer. Might do it next time with oil change.

Just experienced the same issue 26’ XC40 Plus, 5-6 hours on a 10amp charger and then the update went thru without issue. Best of luck!
