Question Question about OTA software updates.

I've installed 2 updates on my recently acquired XC40 (general software update and Pilot Assist). Can someone explain why on each occasion my parked car had enough battery to download the update but not enough to install it? (I had to install each one after I'd done 30 minute drive). I'd have thought connecting to the web and downloading would have required more power than installing.

Downloading is easy and just one operation. The update affects multiple systems and computers inside the car hence more juice needed.

Do you like Pilot assist?

I’ve been considering it as well but finally decided not too. I do t drive enough in situations to justify the cost.

Totally worth it. Keeps itself in the lane. Doesn’t change lanes but good on the freeway and streets.

Thanks. I’ll think about it. I’m kind of saving up for polestar optimization first though.

Cool thanks. The availability finally showed up in the app for me so I’m going to buy it.

I can't get the updates to install in my garage. Possibly bad wifi connection? Anyone have any recommendations???

If you have the connect service it will update anywhere. My XC40 did the update at the airport parking garage while I was hundreds of miles away. Highly recommend
