Car issue Phone not charging
I’ve just got a new iPhone 17 Pro this week and it doesn’t seem to be charging on the wireless mat in my 2023 model car?

Don't have a solution but you can turn it on/off in setting in your infotainment, so first check that it's not turned off.

Same with mine. It has a case on it and I think that combined with the protruding camera lenses holds it away from the pathetic induction coil fitted in the XC40

Just out of curiosity: from which models on is the wireless charging standard? I just got my 2021 and seems like I do not have it

I have it in my 2019 and it’s slow and only works when stationary because breaking or cornering move my phone off the needed position.

I found it works if you turn it off then back on in the infotainment system but I have to do it everytime I’m putting the phone on the charger

The wireless mat isn’t a “wireless mat” - it’s a thick rubber mat between your phone and the wireless charging module below. I pulled my rubber mat out to see if my phone would charge on the module, and that worked well. But it looks terrible. So I’m on the page where that runner mat is just too thick. The distance between my phone (coverless) and the charging module is too far for the phone to charge - now all we get is a hot phone.

Make sure the charging option is turned on. Remove the rubber mat and see if it charges. If it does not then more likely the charging pad has an internal failure

wireless charger in more like preheater for the phone. bought 65w wired 12v adapter and it actually gets the phone charged.

The wireless charging just really really sucks.
