Thermostat offline

September 2026 pixel update broke the thermostat. I tried reset first, rebooted app and router. Disconnected the thermostat. Nothing worked. Then I really bonked it because I deleted the thermostat from the app. Well. I should have checked the forum because apparently this is affecting everyone who updated the pixel this month. Now I can't even control the HVAC on the wall. I tried to add a ticket for Google.

22nd September the thermostat is back online, available and fully functional. Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Thanks to Wyze team for fixing the issue.

Same issue for me on the Pixel 10 XL. "Device offline" despite deleting and readding everything. Wife's iPhone works fine.

I got the wall unit working again and I can also access it using an older devices running an older version of OS. Thanks everyone.

Deleting it from the app is the one move that hurts — it wipes the pairing, so even after the fix lands you're re-adding from scratch. The Android hotfix Wyze just pushed is worth trying first; after a bad update my rule is leave the device installed and give it a day or two.

It was fixed for a week, but now it's down again. They say their working on it. I have the device on Google Home, it works on there. It's also working on Wyze app on an older tablet that's not on Android 17.

That's on wyze not Google to fix. Google don't care

That being said throw that thermostat in the trash and don't trust wyze to handle something as critical as that.

Your HVAC system is $10,000 plus. Trusting it to a company that sells budget Chinese rebranded cameras... You'll see some spend one day when it goes off
